Lets say i have X head Cannon on the field and y dragon head in the graveyard, so then i activate my premature burial brining y dragon head back to the field could i then equip y dragon head to x head cannon and if so what would happen to premature burial? would it be sent to the graveyard and if that happens what happens to Y Dragon Head? would he be destroyed along with P.B. or would he be safe? :?

Yes you may use the union effect. Premature Burial's target is no longer on the field (monster wise) so it is sent to the graveyard, Y dragon is already gone so it can npt take Y dragon with it.

Better idea to use Call on opponent's turn with Formation Union then you can surprise the opponent with an atk boost in that case to lessen damage or destroy the attacker, plus a measure of protection for the X Head

Note that this would cause a Replay, so it would not necessarily cause the destruction of the attacking monster (as they get a choice to attack or not).
