Unmasked and Firepits of Apokolypes

I have a couple questions that i need a ruling on.

1) If a player was to try to power up, and i activate Unmasked. Can he try to power up again in chain to unmasked being activated or does it them.

example: a teen titans player activated "New Teen Titans", his opponent activates "Unmasked". Can the Titans player activate a second "New Teen Titans" in chain which will resolve before "Unmasked"

2) If a Darkseid Elite player was to activate "Firepits of apokolypes" and target another players face down resource, the player then chains the activation of that face down resource, thus making it an illegal target for "firepits". Does the darksied player choose a new target or does he have to pay the cost again to retarget?

1) Yes, he can change another New Teen Titans to power-up in the chain before Unmasked has resolved.

2) No, they do not choose another target. The target is chosen at the activation of Firepits, if the opponent chains the face-down resource, the chain resolves and since the resource that was face-down is now face-up Firepits resolves without effect and stays on the Darseid Elite's field. However, in your second part of the question, if the Darkseid Elite player was able to exhaust another Darkseid Elite character, they could target another face-down resource.
