Hi All,

I just finished the update to my website which is designes to be a news and resource site for duelists, Judges, and parents in the upper mid west. I am not trying to compete with Metagame or this site, just add some tools and info. I was wondering if a couple of you would take a look at it and give me some suggestions. I am hoping to expand the articles and resource sections as I find more local writers.

There are a few shameless plugs for this great website as well as RONIN and Deck Studio of which I am a huge fan.

The website is in my signiture.

Wow! There are plugs o'plenty for CoG! And even a link to an article by yours truly! :D <I am equally as shameless>

I've always thought the parental perspective of your site was a nice addition to the web. I was surprised, after getting used to surfing the internet, how many parents actually played this game with their kids. There are very few parents that play with their kids in my area. They mostly drop their kids off to let them fend for themselves at the card shop, whether they know the game well or not.

My only suggestion would be to try implementing the API into your site somehow and get your website listed in the Movers & Shakers section of the Netrep website. You've already got quite a few text links to Netrep anyway, so you've already fulfilled the requirements for using the API. ;)

Hey YugiDad. The site is looking really good. I was just sniffing around there the other day and I really like the layout change, its a lot easier to read and the sidebar menu does to good things for the site.

I'm personally running Firefox and I bumped into a couple pages where the text got a little jumbled. I'm not sure what program you're using to create your HTML pages and view them, but if you have a second, I'd recommend using the "Big 4" browsers just to make sure you have a somewhat consistent look to the site (Firefox, Netscape {yeah, it still gets users}, Internet Explorer, Safari {Gotta find a MAC though})

Didn't I see you have a discussion group or forum setup for your local constituents the other day? If so, I can't find the link anymore. If its no longer up, no worries.

Keep up the great work and thanks for the link to Deck Studio there, its nice to see some extra advertising 8^D

EDIT: Oh, one last thing, a lot of your pages have "Template" in its title when you look at the top of the browser page. Don't forget to update those 8^D

I did get a few instances of text overlap. Having built a few websites myself, I know how difficult it can be to track down the exact cause of that, especially if your using a web building program that relies on using layers. Also, I can never tell if it's perhaps my outdated browser that makes certain things look the way they do, or if it's just a quirk of a particular program that the web designer might not see on twelve different computers, but it shows up that way on a few others.

Either way, the site looks well organized and easy to navigate, which is more important then a few instances of overlapping text. As long as everything is clear and legible and you can easily find things, then your better off them some so-called "professionally" made websites, where all the text is in the right place, but for the life of me, I can't tell one link from another or understand their organizational system.

I fixed the home page to make the link to the discussion group (forum) more obvious. You just have to click on the plate. I use Yahoo's sitebuilder (basically Frontpage). I run Firefox on my computer and IE on the laptop I use for events. I will see if I can find a local duelist or Judge who is running Safari.

I think I fixed the page header issue and corrected the text overlay issue. If anyone notices specific errors please let me know.

I requested the API and then realized I had already done that a while ago so if someone can delete my new request that would be great.

The judges page still has one small overlap on the section about RONIN, but everything else is really clean. Awesome work YugiDad!

Seems that you don't know this:

Many parents play with their sons, even in tourneys.
