Upsidedown Fiendishness

kingpinopie

Himoura Shinta
Ok, so its not full of fiends, but it IS FIENDISH in nature...... U may recognize that this deck has 50 cards.... and that seems like an aweful lot... however, it will widdle itself down relatively FAST.... this deck is built to just mess with my opponent, control their deck and hand, and let me swarm for massive damage..... seems cool... check it out and lemme know what you think.... thanks

Man, that IS fiendish kingpinopie, I love the Magical Hats angle in here that can get extra tribute monsters and distrupt their strategy. 8^D I am a little worried about some spell/trap negation if the scarabs don't become readily available, have you thought about a Snipe Hunter in the mix for that?

All in all looking great! Sorry I don't have much else to add 8^D

Actually Im down with the magical hats cuz it gives me a chance to throw (face down) Dark Coffin and Statue of the Wicked ... let them destroy it with their attack.... im cool with it cuz its face down ..... OR i can always set them and heavy storm it or let them do it.. lol......

Im not sure how I can use the snipe hunter in this though.. u'll have to help me understand that one... Im not too worried about the spell / trap negation ... heck .. I dont mind at all cuz most ppl run mobius, heavy storm, and mst... thats more fuel for my side strategy with the coffin and statue.... they will be so worried about that goin on all the time that they wont be able to handle the beatin they are taking from my monsters hahaha... see how the morphing jars are? .. ya they will get me a chance to end my opponents battle phase and give me monsters face down... they better hope I dont have a tribute monster to drop on them, cuz Dark Ruler will make sure their monster will not hurt me a bit, and Shinx, well we know what it does... lol... or better yet, I could set the sphinx, and then use swords of revealing light..... ( or would it miss its timing to activate its effect? .... anyway.. there are so many ways to hurt someone in here ..... its actually really fun, cuz all the cards seem to work together.... and i dont mind if i top deck the statue of the wicked, or magical hats cuz if they destroy one of my statue, i still get to put a token out on the field, and then I can tribute that anyway.... lol.... or maybe Im taking this statue of the wicked thing too far and giving the card too much credit..... Im pretty sure it works tho..... ok, im done rambling.. what was the question? hahahha

Just remember that if you use Statue of the Wicked or Dark Coffin with Magical Hats, if they are attacked, they are flipped face up and as such you won't get their effects (only if they are attacked with something like Mystic Swordsman LV2 where it's destroyed before being flipped face up would they still activate).

Of course the other trick someone did was after all the attacks were done and they were in the End Step of the Battle Phase (but look, still the Battle Phase), they activated Magical Hats then. The 2 Traps were set and then *boom* destroyed (by the effect of Magical Hats) and activated.

Ahhhh .. very fiendish.... thats a good way to ensure that u got both effects.... can i set both Dark Coffin and statue and still get both effects like that? or would one miss its timing.....

sweet.... yet another aspect of this deck for the opponent to worry about.... dang.... thats cool

Was sorta lookin at Jetroid as an additional option in this lineup... any thought?

Jetroid

I'd like to suggest trying Ultimate Offering in this deck. With the use of Scarabs, Has Des, and Guardian Sphinx, and both Morphing Jars as well as Magical Hats this deck could take some serious advantage of Ultimate Offering.

U know.. u may be right.... Im going to have to try it out and see how well Ultimate Offering works.....
I was also thinking that, since I have deck/hand control cards in here... why not use Gravekeepers Servant.....
I know that DarkWorld can take serious advantage of this deck, so can monarchs ... but thats why I have the sidedeck I do.... I can totally alter the face of the deck... but Gravekeepers Servant will serve as yet another form of protection for my monsters.... cuz the opponent will have to think twice before attacking... heck they will lose enough cards attacking or getting hit by what Ive already got in the lineup...

anyway... Ultimate Offering may be a good card for this deck, Im going to check it out..

Yes, DEFINITELY go the UO route. I think there was a deck similar to this that was being brainstormed by some folks before UO was restricted to 1. You can do some seriously nice effects with it. Activate it before they end their battle phase and unless they have some removal during MP2 (which they typically use up during MP1) you've got some freebie flippers to use. 8^D

Forgive me because I'm probably just not seeing it but...where does Soul Release come in? I'm failing to see how it benefits the deck...but then again sometimes I'm tunnel visioned and can't see the forest through the trees.

If Soul Release IS out of place I'd suggest Book of Moon. I think you could put BOM to great use with the monsters your deck is sporting.

Well John, I have noticed that quite a bit of decks recently have this ability to keep using what is in their graveyard... I just wanna get rid of it all... especially the dark world / destiny hero stuff..... however.... those arent a huge concern.... its mostly a side thing to keep them on their toes while i pound and ground and then get rid of any resources they might have thought they had..... I guess all in all, since i am eliminating their hand, field, and deck, I may as well get rid of the Graveyard too....

I WAS running book of moon in here... but opted to try this out instead for a bit... I was actually thinking about dropping it for a BOM anyway.... thx

I decided to drop in a Prometheus, King of the Shadows in place of one of my Morphing Jar #2 ... it works pretty well...

Prometheus, King of the Shadows 4/1300/800
Effect: When you Normal Summon this card, remove from play any number of DARK monsters in your Graveyard. This card gains 400 ATK for each removed card, until the End Phase of this turn.

Wouldn't Prometheus conflict with you Pot of Avarice though? They kind of defeat each other's purpose don't they?

One other item you might try that I've had paticularly good experiences using with Dark Ruler Has Des is...and I know it's unconventional....Interdimensional Matter Transporter. Dark Ruler is a real pain in your opponnent's side providing you can keep it out on the field. You can bet that your opponent is going to get rid of the Big Dark Bad Boy asap. IMT gives him a fighting chance to keep presence as well as keeping him or a flipped up (often from attack) Guardian Sphinx from being Snatch Stolen from you. The worse thing about those two monsters is having them used AGAINST you!

Wow.... 2 pains in the neck in here...... 1 - That Prometheus... wow.. what a pain.. he is out.. ...

Soul Exchange is a cool card but isnt proving really effective... its keeps ending up in my hand as a top deck and when my opponent has monsters on the field, it does NO GOOD....

SO... Im going to keep the monsters as is, but put in Book of Moon for the Soul Release

I also threw in that Ultimate Offering .... and took out 1 each of the statue, hats, and coffin.... seems faster, and the UO works GREAT as a surprise tactic when my opponent thinks they get to punish Don Zaloog for free.... lol.... then all of a sudden BAM is Dark Ruler..... oohhhh yaaaaa

Thx for the suggestions, .. keep em goin

Right, UO is a great surprise tactic...but consider it's uses with Guardian Sphinx and Swarm of Scarabs. Wait until the end of your opponent's battle phase and use UO to set Scrabs or tribute one of those Momongas for Guardian Sphinx...now they're all set to do the dirty work on your turn.

Heck ya... i am down with that,,, I love springing surprises on my opponent that they just dont expect.... Maybe Ill take this to tourney this week to see how it runs...
