Vampire Lord, Creature Swap &...

I have edited your post to turn on the Autolinking feature.

Please read the 2nd ruling for Vampire Lord, as it will answer your question.

Just in case, here it is...lol...

"Vampire Lord" will only return to play with his effect when the owner controls it, because "Vampire Lord" must be "destroyed and sent to YOUR Graveyard". When your opponent takes control of your "Vampire Lord", and it inflicts Battle Damage to your Life Points, then the first effect of "Vampire Lord" is activated. But the second effect will not be activated if "Vampire Lord" is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard while your opponent controls him.

You can't destroy Vampire Lord and get his reborn effect. It has to be your opponent's effect. And he must be your monster (under your control) when he is destroyed by your opponent's effect.

-Edit- Outgunned again.

No, and the ruling is a little tricky to read, but makes sense...

Vampire Lord" will only return to play with his effect when the owner controls it, because "Vampire Lord" must be "destroyed and sent to YOUR Graveyard". When your opponent takes control of your "Vampire Lord", and it inflicts Battle Damage to your Life Points, then the first effect of "Vampire Lord" is activated. The whole "your graveyard" is the key. When V-Lord hits the graveyard, it checks a couple things. 1)Was I destroyed on my owners side of the field: No 2)Was I destroyed by a card effect: Yes. Both of those scenarios need to be yes in order for its effect to go off.

This is also why Phoenix is that much more brutal, it doesn't matter how where it came from, as long as it was destroyed by a card effect, it gets to revive.

EDIT: Dude, I'm like Mr. Slow Typer this morning 8^D
