Vampire Lord question

Just checking with you guys basically.

If my opponent Lightning Vortex's my Vampire Lord, and then summons Kycoo, does damage with him and removes my Vampire Lord form play, does my Vampire Lord not come back due to being removed from play, or does he?

Vampire Lord can only special summon itself from the graveyard.

It will not be summoned if removed from play.
