Cardinal

VENNOMINAGA
DARK/Reptile "“ Effect/Level 10/ATK 0/DEF 0
This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by Descent of Snake God or its own effect. This card gains 500 ATK for each Reptile-Type monster in your graveyard. While this card is face-up on the field, it cannot be targeted and is unaffected by the effects of monster, Spell and Trap Cards except this card's own effect. When this card is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard by battle, it can be Special Summoned by removing 1 Reptile-type card from your graveyard from play, except this card. When this card inflicts Battle Damage to your opponent, place 1 Hyper Venom Counter on this card. If there are 3 Hyper Venom Counter on this card, this card's controller wins the Duel

This Card is raising more questions than any other, for me and my mate.
I wish to play this in a deck soon, but we are still unsure of what will and will not stop her.

My reading of this card, and from what I have seen on other websites, is that the only way to get rid of this card is through Battle.

Would Vennominaga, be stopped from attacking by Negate attack, or Waboku?

If Macro Cosmos was on the field, and she was destroyed in battle, would she be sent out of play, not to be returned?

I have read that Skill Drain, IF on the field when she is summoned would keep her from getting her effects, and no ATK increase. So she would remain at 0 ATK, and open to other S/T (like Smashing Ground), but when she hits the graveyard would I still be able to use her effect to re-summon her?.

If any of you know of ways of getting rid of her, apart from by Battle Damage. Please let us know so we can be sure to play the correct rules, and not be guessing.

Thanks all for your input.

Negate and Waboku, I'm not sure. But I'm just guessing it wouldn't be affected by Negate Attack. I can't speak for Waboku.

Skill Drain and Lava Golem are the only known ways of getting rid of it, other than battle. Yes, if Vennominaga was destroyed in battle, even with Skill Drain on the field, you would be able to activate it's effect, even though it'll come back with 0 ATK.

And I'm assuming if it was removed when destroyed by battle, it wouldn't be able to be brought back.

Hope it helps.

Think of Elemental Hero Wildheart and Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV6 when it comes to what can affect Venominaga.

Waboku firstly affects the damage, not the monster. Therefore, it will stop Venominaga. As for Negate Attack, it's affecting the monster, therefore it cannot stop Venominaga. As evidence of this, look at the rulings for Elemental Hero Wildheart.

If you attack with "Elemental Hero Wildheart" and the opponent activates "Widespread Ruin", if "Elemental Hero Wildheart" is your monster with the highest ATK, no monster will be destroyed by the effect of "Widespread Ruin". If the opponent activates "Mirror Force", "Elemental Hero Wildheart" will not be destroyed, but all your other Attack Position monsters will be destroyed. If the opponent activates "Negate Attack", his attack will not be negated, and the Battle Phase will not end. If the opponent activates Magic Cylinder", his attack will not be negated and no Effect Damage will be dealt.
As for being removed after being destroyed by battle, the answer is right in the text.
When this card is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard by battle
Therefore, if she's removed, she won't come back, since it never reached the graveyard.

You do raise an excellent question about Skill Drain. The best assumption though would be that Skill Drain would only negate the field effects of Venominaga. Firstly, whoever is out first would obviously be dominant over the other. Skill Drain would then most likely negate the immunities and the attack increase, However, as you said yourself, it should be able to revive itself from the graveyard due to the requirement of needing to actually hit the grave.

As for beating it, you could always remove every reptile in the graveyard I guess. Then she would end up with zero attack, and you should be able to destroy it in battle. Soul Release tech anyone? :p

I do think that a Divine Wrath chained to Vennominaga's reviving effect can make Vennominage stays at the graveyard. But actually anything that can be chained to its effect and that can remove it from the graveyard can stop Vennominaga when it is destroyed in battle but I assume there is none since, well, it's the Damage Step we're talking about here.

As for Vennominaga on the field, Lava Golem remains the only choice according to my memory. Destiny Hero - Plasma and Skill Drain can also negate Vennominaga's field effects if they are face-up before Vennominaga hits the field.

Necrovalley would stop you paying the cost to special summon it from the graveyard, and End of Anubis would stop the effect that allows it to be special summoned from the graveyard (but wouldn't stop you paying the cost- I think. I could well be wrong on that.)

I would say that easiest way of stopping Vennominaga is either negating Descent of Snake Deity (via Royal Decree or something) or removing Vennominon from the field without him being destroyed (Karma Cut, Compulsory Evacuation Device, D. D. Warrior Lady). If you want to destroy Vennominon, then make sure you destroyed opponents set S/T cards and Vennominaga won't be able to get out.
