Waboku and damage?

Hey all I was just wondering, how exactly does waboku work?

For example, I attack my opponents monster in face down defense and they activate waboku. My monsters attack becomes 0 so would i take damage?

Also is it true if thier monster is face down and waboku is used so my monsters are unable to harm it will the monster still be flipped up at the least?

Here is the jest of it,

1. You can still attack your opponent's monsters if your opponent had activated Waboku previously in that turn. Why would you do that? A face down monster is still flipped face up, although it will not be destroyed by the attack.
2. If Waboku is activated in response to an attack by Goblin Attack Force (Spear Dragon or Giant Orc), then the monster will still change position by its own effect.
3. If your opponent attacks your Gemini Elf with his/or her Gemini Elf and you activate Waboku in response to the attack, your Gemini Elf takes no Battle Damage and therefore lives. Your opponent's Gemini Elf still takes damage and therefore dies.

This is a card that has continually been played incorrectly. I have argued at some tournaments these effects, and have left in the middle of the duel due to an ignorant judge. I am starting to wonder if this game is even worth playing. The cards cost too much! I get into arguments over the rulings, ALL THE TIME!!!

I just want to say that the judges and persons that help in understanding the rules to the T.C.G. Yugi-Oh, (meaning this site: Netrep.net), are the best! You do make a difference to those of us who would like to continue playing the game. UDE should give you guys a chunk of the profit, cause if it wasn't for you, (Netrep.net), I would have stopped playing a long, long time ago, (about $643.21 ago!).

well you have to remember, that alot of the Lv. 1 judges became judges just for the heck of it. just for braggin rights to say "Oh, im a level 1 judge. your just a player"

but see there are thouse (mostly all the heads that come to this place) that are actually here to know whats up with the game. so when we took tests we didnt really do it for the heck of it.

waboku, is an odd ball, but once you get to know it, its not that hard to explain.

but your right, I almost droped the game because of the constant ruling change and ruling arguments.

but then decided to see exactly how knowledgable i am, and decided to take the test without the book.

or doing the "right click > view source" method that i know many people have prolly used.

but since this is the waboku post, i did have a question come to my head.

say i attack a face down Total Defense shogun or anything with high defense, atleast 2100

and i attack it with my BLS-e my opponent activated waboku in responce to the attack.

i know my attack damage becomes zero, do i get the recursion damage from the defense monster?

thats really what i have been wondering.

"Waboku" is not "Fairy Box". "Fairy Box" makes your ATK 0 (which can hurt). "Waboku" looks at the ATK/DEF of the appropriate cards, calculates any modifiers, comes up with a Battle Damage value, and then sets that to 0 for the player who activated "Waboku". "Waboku" does not adjust ATK or DEF in any way (which is why you can't activate in the Damage Step). So there's no backlash unless your opponent was the one who activated "Waboku" and you decide to run your "Sinister Serpent" into their "D. D. Warrior Lady".
