X-Box 360 Who waited in line for one

You mean there were lines for the sale of X-Box 360?? I guess I didnt notice... I see it at Target and just figured it went for sale with little or no fanfare.

Nice Graphics though. I'm waiting for PS3 myself.

It was on G4, at some Best Buy, all of the people standing in line waiting for midnight sales. Crazy stuff. They probably are all sold out by now, everywhere I bet.

some guy waited since the day before to get it.

that means he spent 1 complete day with out work just to buy him self an entertainment box.

thats sad...

I dont really want a 360 or PS3 all I want is a Revolution :D

I didn't wait in line, but that's just because I haven't got the cash to buy one. I did play it at a Best Buy and Circuit City yesterday though getting down on the Call of Duty 2 demo. Looks pretty sweet, but knowing that the PS3 WILL have better graphics this just means that the PS3 will just blow everything we've ever seen out of the water, it also means that that Killzone trailer they showed off before is the real deal and is definitely real time gameplay running off the cell processor.

I just can't wait.

I guy I work with told me that his brother-in-law was inline for one of these bad boys at a Walmart. He was one of the first 30 lucky him, because Wal-Mart didn't announce that they only had 30. So after the line was like 100 people they handed out tickets for the first 30 people. Then he told me that some guy in the back of the line offered some guy infront of hime $1000 for his ticket and his spot.... and the guy turned him down... I would have taken the money and waited for the next shipment.

People are so ridiculous. No game system is worth all that Drama in this day and age.

I could see if we were still playing with Nintendo 8 bit systems. But the graphic's are just "better" than the latest thing out, not "Revolutionary", like Playstation was. Why pay $1000 dollars for something that is going to die out in "mass interest" in a matter of months after Christmas???

because itll be a PSP / DS run out.

remember when DS came out? IT ran out and there were no shipments for half a year.

that is kinda harsh.

What I find funny about the entire situation is Xbox 360 has a lot of problems, Xbox Live problems or system problems. People waited in the cold just to get their hands this so called "next generation" system when in reality we can all skip Xbox 360 until the real next generation comes from PS3. I think when you start having session problems on Xbox Live with Halo 2 and people with old Xbox games cannot even play them yet or at all is just sending the message they should not care to buy it. I was with my friend going to Gamestop when we passed a Best Buy with a line the size of a practical joke. We get to Gamestop and no one is there, get the system for him and leave.

gamestop had its issues.

its why so many went to best buy, circuit city, etc...

my friend preordered his at a gamestop, they forgot to order it for him.

not kool huh...

Personally, I think it's insane to wait in line for anything like that. Now if it was the Nintendo Revolution, I'd understand... :D

But seriously, why do it? Why not wait until the next week or so and get it with no lines? Or the next year and get it cheaper? Etc.

Because it would be sold out. In fact it was already sold out for pre-orders months ago.

I'm not interested in the 360 but will be getting the PS3. Unless it goes for $500 or more. I have a friend at a local retail store that I get to buy it and he holds it for me to pick up after he gets off work. Did this for the PS2 and probably will for the PS3. The great thing about working in retail is you can buy something before it is released. That may be why some stores only had 9-10 when it went on sell. The employees probably bought 5-6 out of the originial 15 shipment.

dude, are you insane? PS3 is ranged to cost about $500 because of Blu Ray.

dude, seriously PS3 is gonna be expensive, people thought the 400 dollarX-360 was pricey, wait till they see the PS3 popping out at $500 dollars and big reason is for supporting Blu-Ray Because beyond that, it doesnt come with a hard drive.

And six months after it comes out it will be 200 bucks like EVERY other system that ever came out for a ridiculous amount of money. I'm sticking to playing my games a generation behind. As soon as I finish Tomb Raider: Chronicles, I'm going to get my friends PS2 for a few bucks. That way I can try and finish Syphon Filter once and for all. Laugh? Sure, you may laugh. You may even think I'm silly. But lets compare the amount of money we've both spent on the exact same amount of games and systems and well see which one is funnier.

Inceidently, who's getting a bunch of errors from their 360s? I saw in the nwes that a bunch of people are getting errors from thier systems. ANother reason not to buy your console too early. First generation concols are NEVER worth the money. You should wait till after they've worked out the bugs and the price is cut in half before buying your system. Impatience is just too expensive.

Keep in, PS2 will be pretty cheap giving hte fact Blu-Ray players when they first come out will be pricey themselves, probably even already at double the speed.

I don't think the X-box 360 is going to drop in price much even in 1 year since Microsoft is already losing $173 dollars per unit.... They are hoping on making it up in software releases....

Hehe, its Microsoft, you ALWAYS wait for service pack 1 to come out before you consider it a viable product 8^D

Seriously though, we had a slight "scandal" at one of the local Best Buys. All the ads were hyping the $299 or $399 for the core unit and a bunch of people were camped out. Well, about an hour or so before the doors were to open, the BB folks start handing out these sheets that are showing all the different bundles available, saying that they don't sell just the core unit, you have to buy it in a bundle. The ad in the paper was just supposed to give people a feel for what the unit cost in relation to the bundles.

I don't know if it was because a TV crew was present or because BB there had a Change of Heart, but they decided to go ahead and sell people just the core unit.

Me, I wasn't anywhere near a line. I don't play my regular Xbox enough to warrant the upgrade, let alone the time to play nowadays 8^D

Anybody remember when the Turbo Graphx 16 came out? They wanted like $200 for the unit (insane at the time) AND it didn't have any controllers or games with it. You had to spend another $50 per controller and the "Bonks Adventure game" cost ya another $35. 8^D
