Yamata Dragon LOD-EN067

Yamata Dragon
Spirit Monster (Dragon / FIRE / 7 Stars / ATK 2600 / DEF 3100)

This card cannot be Special Summoned. This card returns to the owner's hand during the End Phase of the turn that this card is Normal Summoned, Flip Summoned or flipped face-up. When this card inflicts Battle Damage to your opponent's Life Points, draw cards from your Deck until you have 5 cards in your hand.

Now we get to 1 of 2 Spirit Monsters that have a great and horrible effect at the same time. Outstanding Defense, eh Attack for a 2 tribute, but enough to get over most monsters. Inflict Battle Damage and start drawing cards to replenish your hand. Unfortunately, it's a Spirit so he can't be Special Summoned and it'll return to your hand at the end phase, on top of the fact you had to tribute 2 monsters to get him out in the first place (Stray Lambs could help here). It will definately need support cards to help make it fully useful (Tsukuyomi anyone? Or Dimensionhole which can be your Spirit Monster's best friend). Not recommended to run unless you build the deck specifically around it. It's doable though and could be a fun alternative for most decks.

This card is a good candidate for Spirit Energy Settle Machine, Sinister Serpent/Night Assailant. Only problem is, once you have a five card hand, you better manage it well since you can easily deck yourself out depending on when you summoned this card to the field.

Kind of like how Yugi decked out Marik when he was using Silfer.

Only way that could happen is if your opponent were using Dark Spirit of Silence (e. Dark Spirit of the Silent) to force Yamata no Dragon ("Eight-Headed Dragon") (e. Yamata Dragon) to attack. Yuugi used Revival Slime (e. Revival Jam) on Malik's Osiris (e. I refuse to put the TCG name here ...).
