You can't chain Torrential to BTH right?

I had this happened to me before, and I don't think this is legal.

My foe summons a high ATK monster

I activate BTH in response.

They chain Torrential to send it to then graveyard instead of RFP.

Now, if you CAN chain Torrential to BTH then it does make sense that everything hits the grave and nothing goes to RFP, but Torrential pretty much "missed" his timing cause it can only be activated to a response of a summon, not BTH activation.

If Torrential Tribute is chained to BTH it doesn't miss the timing. The last thing to resolve was the summon of the monster to the field (BTH has not yet resolved) and the timing is just fine. Then as you stated resolve backwards and TT resolves destroying all monsters and sending them to the graveyard, BTH tries to resolve but nothing is there anymore.

The first effect that is activated in response to a summon begins a chain. That entire chain is in response to that summon. That's the reason you can chain Bottomless Trap Hole to the effect of Mobius the Frost Monarch. Mobius' Trigger Effect is the frist effect placed on a chain that is activated in response to the summon. So anything with the summon response timing can be appropriatly activated and added to this chain.
