Well i'm not there so i won't judge it, but as an observation, it almost seems like we are going somewhat back to the days where you would email them and pray for a response.
I'll wholeheartly admit, having been around since the Demo Team days, that the system has improved alot, but it seems...
No reply unfortunately.
Either they don't have an answer, or don't care.
When you submit a question, they don't automatically post it like they used when they first started, they now hold the question back and reserve the right to reject it, or not respond. That's why you haven't seen...
I don't think it's so much a matter of us not seeing your point, yes it's unique, but whether it affects EoA's ability to negate it in anyway is in doubt, because it's still a Graveyard effect that you activate.
Card and Effect have always been different entities, but when one effect negates...
Yet another point we disagree on.
In terms of Spell and Trap Cards, in general Card Activation is refering to you as the player playing the card to the Field (or Graveyard) from your Hand, or flipped while Set on the Field. Effects can overide this of course (as they can virtually do...
But it's not card activation, which is the point i'm making, you could not chain Magic Jammer to it.
There is a difference between activating Black Pendant, and activating an effect of Black Pendant. I don't believe in the case of The End of Anubis that is matters who is actually doing to...
Even if you are right Kyhotae regarding a "cardless" activation, it still remains to be seen whether that has any bearing on The End of Anubis negating the effect.
If you believe that a "card" itself must be activating in the Graveyard in order for The End of Anubis to negate the effect...
The fact that card and effect are seperate entities here has nothing to do with The End of Anubis, it's still a Spell effect that came from a Spell Card.
Apparently the theory is that because the Spell Card itself isn't being activated (only the effect is by Diamond Dude), that it didn't somehow originate from a Spell Card and is now a nameless, faceless, tasteless.... rebel effect without a cause.
Just way too much overanalyzation going on here...even for me...
I haven't been dying for a ruling this much since the [Exiled Force] fiasco... just so that the madness will end.
Suit yourself, i'm only offering an educated opinion.
What i am saying is that [End of Anubis]' text is refering strictly to Effect Activation and NOT Card Activation that produces effect.
Example:
[Black Pendant] has a Graveyard effect. (yes it's a triggered effect, get over it)
Can...
Yes they would for sure.
I'm still hesitant to use Monster Effects because mechanically the game views them as a form of Card Activation, like being able to chain [Barrel Behind the Door] to say [Lava Golem]. All all the Spell/Trap examples are Triggers, so people will complain and it's tough...
I'll ask it and post the answer when it is given.
This is clearly a Spell Card effect, and End of Anubis mechanically does not care about Card Activation at all. Activating this effect would be comparable to activating an effect of a Continuous Card already face up.
Either way, it seems...
That is NOT cardless, if anything it is Diamond Dude's effect that is activating the effect...which means that that is it is infact a Monster Card effect.
Yea... but where in the world are you getting this from?
There is no basis for this other than to just make it up.
Infact:
""Destiny Hero - Diamond Dude" doesn't actually activate the Normal Spell card itself. Instead, he just activates its effect. So the Spell Card remains in the...
Because from years of reading card text, and when you really understand templating, I know one thing:
When they say: "all effects of Spell, Trap, and Monster Cards [...] that activate in the Graveyard are negated.""
They really mean:
[all effects (of [all_Card_Types])] [that activate...
After reviewing the text and rulings, i definately see some holes in what i said but...
The fundamental difference between what we are saying still remains this:
You believe that the card generating the activation must be activating its effect from the Graveyard in order for End of Anubis...
What proof do i need?
If an effect activates in the Graveyard ...[End of Anubis] negates it... period. Regardless of whether the Spell Card or Diamond Dude's effect is doing to activating.
It doesn't matter what is doing the activating, or where that card is, if the effect comes the...
