Reflect Bounder and Ancient Lamp

Tkwiget

Da Twiggy Man!
P1 has a face up Attack Positioned Reflect Bounder and Jinzo on the field. P2 has a face down Defense Positioned Ancient Lamp on the field.

P1 declares his attack with Jinzo. P2's Ancient Lamp is flipped face up and activates. The attack is redirected to Reflect Bounder.

What I'm unsure of is if Reflect Bounder will activate and inflict Effect Damage and then Damage Calculations are applied.

According to the Battle Phase chart, Reflect Bounder's Trigger Effect that inflicts damage is activated in the Sub-Step 2 of the Damage Step.

I'm just going out on a limb here to say the Effect Damage won't be applied because Reflect Bounder must be the attack target first. Just need some clarification on this.

I dont think there is much of a change here. You are still attacking your monster with a card you control, even if you are not the original controller.

That wasn't the point of my post. He was attempting to trigger the effect of "Reflect Bounder" w/o the opponent directly attacking the "Reflect Bounder". Yes, I'm aware "Dreamsprite" works differently than "Ancient Lamp". Yes, I'm aware it still won't work because "Dreamsprite" forces the attack directly into Damage Calculation. Again, that wasn't my point. TKWiget is on a learning 'journey'. I was attempting to get a response from him about my suggestion, not a 'correction' from anybody else.
