Hey guys, this is to share with you guys what happened to me at the 10K I took part today. It's a sealed tournament. I passed away an OA and a two-face in my 1st trial and passed away a Sinestro-Green Lantern of Korugar in my 2nd trial. (They wanted to change deck, so we played 1st 3 games with the 1st trial and the remaining 4 games with the 2nd trial) I guess I am really out of luck and not experienced enough, I've got 47 out of 87. (Yeah, sucks right) Anyway, I managed to get my Extended Art Have a Blast. That's one thing I am happy about. Here my scores (3:4)
Round 1:
I played with this guy that has the same surname as me, I beat him eventually at 11: -1. This guy missed one drop and I was lucky that I did not miss a single drop. (1 : 0)
Round 2:
Then, I squared off with a high school guy, I thought I had beaten him at 2: -2, he exhaust his Ganthat and gain 6 endurances. Then, I lost the next turn. (1 : 1)
Round 3:
I totally miss my 1st 3 drops and my opponent had broad superiority all the way, beaten flat down ( 20 : 0) I conceded at round 6. (1 : 2)
Round 4:
Exactly the same at round 3. Missed 1st 3 drops, this time I had a better chance, but eventually conceded when Parallax comes out. He used Black Hand to gain his endurance to 65. When I have 9 left. I managed to bring him down to 37 before I concede. (37 : 5) This was the score when I conceded. (1 : 3)
Round 5:
Lucky me this game, both of us did not miss much and eventually, we went on to turn 7. I had Ultraman in my front role and exhausted Sinestro in my support, he had Alan Scott in front row and Sinestro in his support. (Both the Sinestro's are from the Anti-matter affliation) Our endurance were at (4 : 2), and it is his initiative. He took Sinestro and attacked me, I flipped Helping Hand and gain 1 defense point, Sinestro stun, I don't. Then he took 6 endurance loss and was pushed to -4. Then he propose attack using Scott on my Ultraman, I think I played Sinestro's defiant or something like that and both our characters get stunned. The game ended at. (-3 : -11) I won. (2 : 3)
Round 6:
This one was very close to me winning on turn 6. My opponent manage to escape death by powering up his Ch'P and got 1 endurance left. However, I still took care of that on turn 7. I won at (6: -5) (3 : 3)
Round 7:
I faced my friend this round, but I missed several drops and eventually lost. (3 : 4)
That was how the tournament went, at the end of the tournament; the organizer told us that the Westerner that came was Paul Ross. I was so shocked man. I quickly bought a Cerebro at a high price and asked for his signature. My friend and I took photos with him as well. Guess I will bring my Camera or Camera phones tomorrow to take a picture with him. Also, I will try to get an EA Cerebro for him to sign. Hmmm"¦ Such an honour to meet him. He even questioned me about the Level 2 Judge Test, he tested me whether I was ready to take or not. I answered the questions quickly and correctly, so he said I "˜passed' his test and allowed me to take it tomorrow. Let's hope that I will pass it. Will update more about the winners on Sealed (top 24 square off the next day) and Constructed deck. If I stayed on till end.
Just wanna be sure on this, when you play Genosha, you check whether you have Magneto in the resolution step right? Can anyone give me a reason. Unless it is a payment cost or a cost or part of the cost, you only check for the "˜availability' during the resolution not declaration. However, cases like target, you have to check it during declaration step. Am I totally right?
Another one is on recruiting. When you recruit, there must be an empty chain, so you can recruit, when you recruit, it is considered to be placed on the chain right? If that's so, can I recruit Legion and then play a team-up like Marvel-Teamup? Then the team-up would resolve first followed by Legion, am I right? Please correct me if I am wrong.
