Ok here is the situation:

Player A activates final countdown in turn 5 and it is not negated.
Player B activates final countdown in turn 6 and it is not negated.
In turn 11 (count 13 left for A and 14 left for B), player B uses 2 pyro clock of destinys. Would this change the turn count to :
: 13 for A and 12 for B
: 11 for A and 12 for B
?????????????????????????????????

We all know you cant use games as a burden of proof, although they do mention that GX is using "Expert Rules", whatever that means (bought the game, but haven't taken it out of the plastic!!)....

Expert Rules are the rules used in games as Duel Academy, World Championship Tournament 2005: Day of the Duelist and Nightmare Troubadour.

In short, they are the rules that are supposed to be the same as in the TCG/OCG... But as we know, that isn't entirely true ;)

Add to that what novastar mentioned with regard to translation accuracy being dubious at best, and my confidence in it is all but completely diminished.
It not so much dubious... but it should not be the only form of proof, but it is very useful in bringing about questions that ultimately lead to answers.

The Pyro Clock text is pretty simple and straight forward, that i'm confident that its as accurate as you can get. However, some of the more complex text and rules can be a little hard to wrap around, and you can loose something in the translation.

What bothers me is the fact that the NA text is much broader and very different, the NA rulings don't concretely point in either direction, and the Japanese card is older. Which in some cases points to a Konami change when they brought over here... sometimes not.

Doesn't the OCG play "BLS - EotB" 'correctly'? Meaning they have to choose which effect they will be using during Main Phase 1. So if they wish to attack twice, they must declare they will be using that effect during Main Phase 1 and not during the Battle Phase like we do?

This was the way the Japanese were playing this up until Worlds 2 years ago when it was clarified that that was not the right way to play the card.

I know about 'Blast with Chain', I'm talking about NOW. as of this very moment, name one that doesn't work like the OCG. and anyways, I'm not telling you to go by JERP rulings, this is not the issue, the thing is that the japanese TEXT is clearer.

Last Will is entirely different (can't activate in the Damage Step). Also I believe but haven't seen confirmation that Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys is different (returns from removed from play as well as graveyard) I recall many complaints that our ruling was different but made so that the card was more balanced.

I don't think anyone is discounting using JERP for research purposes to try and get a better understanding of the intention of card effects and further evidence of rulings. However I have to agree that for the following reasons it truly can not be used as basis for ruling decisions. 1) JERP is not Konami and acknowledges that they are not Official Rulings. 2) The aforementioned translation difficulty, rulings in this game often hinge upon (but can't necessarily be consistent with) a single word. and 3) We know from much experience that at least the UDE/Konami entity we get our rulings from is in no hurry to acknowledge errors and often attempt to hide the fact that they are changing prior rulings when they realize it is incorrect. If this practice is not solely UDE's province then we have to assume that the rulings that have been provided to the JERP are just as likely to have been revised in Japan with the probability nobody was going to call the JERP to have them update the "Unofficial" listing.

I'll have to say that 'Last Will' is indeed very different, but 'Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys' isn't.

and yes, I know very well the nature of JERP, but the main issue here is not even a ruling provided, just the way the card is worded in japanese.

Thr turn indeed happened, the only thing that happened is that Gamble skipped it completely without you being able to use your Phases, but the turn was there.
