A Toy deck?

I have an 8 year old son who gets an idea in his head about a deck he wants to play....and it's always some kind of theme deck....and he just WON'T let it go until we make it and he plays it for a month or so.

Though this was at first a little annoying (as he pesters me on a nearly daily basis to make the deck he wishes) it's turned out to be quite fun and a challenge. He was after me to make a rock deck for eons, I finally did so and it does pretty darn well I must say!

Once Blockman came out and he traded for one (he loves Legos) he suddenly stated that we have to make a "Toy Deck" featuring cards that refer to or have toys pictured in them....so now I'm drawing a blank (it's still early and not enough Diet Coke is flowing through my veins) Help me out here folks? What cards have toy themes or references?

You might have to take him to a hypnotherapist on this one... I think the closest you are going to get on a "Toy" theme is Machines or Toons.

i guess you could include the roid monsters there kind of like tys i a way.
hers a list of cards that kind of look like toys.
rocket warrior
dark minic lv1
dark mimic lv3
emeny controller
stuffed animal
i'll post again if i think of anymore.

well how about the toon monsters since they toons genrally get there own action figures. but still it's a weird request though but thinking on toys how about mind control since the picture look like a puppet!!! oh what about the sasuke samurai bunch they look like toys!!!

Well you are probably going to wait forever for that Toy Deck theme. Toy Soldier was releashed in the OCG not to long ago (the Yugi version). Then Napolean, a character on GX uses a Toy Deck as well.

You guys did spark a thought for me already....a deck on ROIDS!

Gyroid
Cycroid
Patroid
Steamroid
Drillroid
UFOroid
Jetroid
Steam Gyroid (yeah right, like I'm going to fusion summon this guy)
UFOroid Fighter

Then we have:
Magical Marionette
Blockman
Stuffed Animal
Dark Mimics

The roids all at least LOOK like toys....but I haven't given much though as to how best to make a workable deck out of them.

Do not bother with ROIDs John. Wait till Power of the Duelist comes out, THEN you can go ahead with that plan. Trust me.

I appreciate your advice TISO! I'll do that...I'm sure my son would be tempered pretty quick with what I just listed <laffin>

I would consider Marionette to be a dark character, meaning that manipulation of others is not really in sync with the innocent Yugi-like minds of children.

Batterman AA is a good card. It promotes teamwork for both offense AND defense.

Battery Charger. If you're going to use AA batteries, you need to recharge them. Today, many toys are electronic and require batteries.

Enemy Controller. Today's kids know all about Nindendo, Playtation and XBOX. Use this card to stop attacks or borrow opponent's monsters. Also useful when a Batteryman AA is not in sync with its companions.

Blockman has been mentioned.

Dekoichi the Battlechanted Locomotive. OK, so currently, its CC material, but who remembers Thomas the Tank Engine? OK, so they're not really the same, and Dekoichi's a Dark monster with a not so pleasant face, but just treat it like a toy train.

Dice Jar. Heh...random, but it looks like a Joey card with insanely, potentially game ending results. One of the best ways to win (or lose) and laugh about it!

Freed the Matchless General. You would need several decent warriors to go along with him, but speaking just for himself, this card promotes leadership and tactical prowness. Command your forces and call on the best men to win the fight...er duel!

Reinforcement of the Army. As above.

Marauding Captain, Command Knight. Promote decoys, teamwork, offense, defense.

United We Stand. Goes along the teamwork theme. The origin of the name doesn't have to be explained just yet.

Gyroid. Has to be attacked twice to be destroyed. Cartoony and a decent staller most of the time.

Kuriboh and Winged Kuriboh. Both save you from battle damage in one way or another and both are cute little fuzzballs. Nevermind Kuriboh is Dark and Fiend.

Mecha Dog Marron. This incarnation of the oh so kawaii Outstanding Dog Marron is now a wooden mechanical toy! Costs 1000 to destroy, so is useful in teaching the lessons of lifepoint management. Who needs H&R when you have YU Gi Oh??!!!

Morphing Jar. A jar that refreshes both players hand and therefore can turn the tide of the duel. If you were looking for cookies, this isn't the right place to look.

Morphing Jar 2. Unrestricted to 3 per deck. Makes for a useful deckout like feature and 99% battlephase ender.

Perfect Machine King. If you like Gundam, this is for you.

Rescue Cat. Another kawaii neko that promotes teamwork. Big guys always topple to multiple annoying little weenies.

Rocket Warrior. If you've seen Joey duel, you've seen Rocket Warrior. Use Invincible Mode and promote teamwork!!!

Time Wizard. OK, so he has a destruction effect, but you have to win the duel in one way or another. Plus, its another Joey card that relies on chance. Oh...and if you have Baby Dragon on the field, and call Time Wizard's effect right, you get Thousand Dragon (shhhh...House rules only!!!)

Treeborn Frog. It just doesn't give up! Neither should you.

Graceful Dice. Dice are fun. Why not add a little boost to your monsters during the Damage Step as well?

Graceful Charity/Angel's Gift. It's giving and receiving all in one (give to the graveyard, receive from the deck)

Magical Mallet. Cartoony feel to it and a selectable Reload.

Mystic Wok. Who doesn't like good food? Cook up some great meals with this card and gain LP in the process!!! Combo with Frog, Enemy Controller.

Final Jeopardy: This card requires the correct naming by the opponent of the bottom monster card in your graveyard. If correct, remove that monster from play, if incorrect, special summon that monster to your side of the field. You have 30 seconds, good luck.

Jeopardy Tune: Think

Answer: What is Question?

Wave Motion Cannon. With so many sci fi movies with amazing graphics and special effects, we revert to a cartoony like blaster that could go off at any time!!!

A Rival Appears! decent effect, cute art

Mirror Force. Without mirrors to reflect the light, you wouldn't be able to see the images of your toys.

Fairy Box. Another Joey chance card. Decently annoying effect.

Interdimensional Matter Transporter. I activate this card's effect so you can't attack my mighty Rescue Cat this turn!

That's all I could come up with after a quick skim through Ronin. Hope this helped!

Hello? Bickuribox, anyone?

I love the Fairy Box one though. Maybe Tribute Doll?

John, if you want, I can give you my deck list for a ToonRoid deck that has been both challenging and entertaining. I only wish I had the Skull and Graceful Dice to "toss" in as well.\

edit:
OMG how could I forget about Dark Necrofear and the lil broken doll in her hands?

And the best of all toys: MP1-007 Stuffed Animal!! How could you live without it?

Well John, Roids are indeed Toys..... Just check Decoyroid...

No other Roid can be attacked but Decroroid first. Syrus uses a 3 monster and 1 Trap Card combo in order to force a duelist he was dueling to attack his 1 monster infinite until he was defeated by the Trap Card causing 300 Damage every type a Machine-Type was Special Summoned to his field.

What about: ( If it comes to USA)

Toy Magician
Light/Spellcaster/4/1600/1500
This card can be treated as a Magic card and set into your Magic/Trap zone. When this card is destroy and sent to Graveyard by effect of opponent's card while set in Magic/Trap zone, special summon this card onto your field at End Phase of that turn. In addition, when this card is successfully Reverse Summon, destroy number of Magic/Trap cards equal to number of face-up [Toy Magician] on the field.
