For those who don't know:

Aegis of Gaia
Trap Card (Continuous)
Gain 3000 Life Points. If this face-up card is removed from the field, lose 3000 Life Points.

Now, I am fairly certain Barrel Behind the Door and Des Wombat won't work since it's not doing actually damage, you're just losing LP. So what about Royal Decree? If it's flipped at the start of the turn and then later Royal, would that negate the LP damage? Or does it create a situation where nothing will stop it once it's been flipped?

If 'Royal Decree' is active when 'Aegis of Gaia' is removed from the field, you don't lose any LPs.

As a side note, the japanese wording of 'Aegis of Gaia' actually states "...take 3000 damage.", so expect the card to be errata'd.
