Amazoness Archers

Amazoness Archers/Trap/Speed 2
This card can only be activated when your opponent attacks and you control a monster on your side of the field that includes "Amazoness" in its card name, or is named "Amazon Archer". All monsters on your opponent's side of the field become face-up Attack position (Flip effects are not activated) and as long as they remain face-up on the field decrease their ATK by 500 points. Your opponent must attack with all of these monsters this turn.

(Quite a mouthful isn't it?)

Gee, seeing that none of you have started a thread for this amazing amazoness card, i just thought i would start it myselfz.
Anyway for all of u people who are SO not playing amazoness decks (and missing out a WHOLE lot of fun), amazoness archers is NOT a monster. When i tell ppl i put 2 amazon archers and 2 amazoness archers in my deck they tell me stuff like, "erm, i thought you can only put 3 of the same card in your deck...."
By the way, enough of other people's ignorance. For those of you who don't really know how to use this card, its like a staunch defender, shadow of the eyes and a mini mirror wall merged in one.All i can say about this card is, without this trap (and dramatic rescue), amazoness decks won't be as strong as they are. I usually like the looks on my opponent's face when they attack me with a monster that is slightly stonger than my amazoness then realise they have to suicide (sometimes with their scapegoat tokens/ojama tokens)

I miss my old Amazoness Deck now. I loved Amazoness Archers when I had Blowpiper down, and three of them set, it was funny to watch a BEWD lose to a Blowpiper with Axe of Despair on her.

The Amazoness deck wasn't great a few monthes ago since there weren't too many good power up cards that you could get, but now there are plenty of Warrior power ups around.

Ah, good ol Amazoness archers. This card is quite fun, indeed. Makes an opponent wary of attacking if they have a def monster on the field, or if they have monster that just barely topples the opponent's amazoness card. Very few restrictions to this card. You have to a amazoness monster card AND it can only be activiated when the opponent declares an attack. First part no problem. Second part is the one that can give you problems.

Luckily it doesn't target but it can still get stopped by Mirage Dragon and Pitch Black Warwolf. And depending on your local envirnoment, trap jammer can make it pretty hard to use.

But when it does work, say goodbye to all your opponent's monsters (unless they have an effect like Spirit reaper or Kaiser Dragon). And if used in combination with Ojama trio or the opponents scapegoats, you are very cruel.

i lurve (read: love) this card... a lot... its DEFINATLY a necessity in an amazon deck, and if its not in there, you need smacked. hard.

if used properly, this card can decimate your opponent. sometimes, the -500 isnt enough, but most of the time it can be. if your opponent's monsters flip face up, it causes a replay, which gives you the chance to use another one, if you have it FD. this card combos VERY well with amazoness tiger. your opponent will think twice about attacking when you summon amazoness tiger and another amazon (somehow in the same turn... special summoning works here) and set a trap FD when your opponent still has a monster on the field... call of the haunted can make things fun too. this card has gotten me out of many a tight situation, and i love it when i see my opponent's Jars and Assailants flip face up only to get destroyed. staunch defender and taunt are very sad play-offs of this card too...

anyway, ratings:
Traditional Amazon- 3/5 (too much s/t removal, etc.)
Advanced Amazon- 4/5 (its almost perfect for them, but not yet there)

Artwork- 5/5 (i like this cards artwork a lot... lol...)

Speaking of which, doesnt it surprise you that cards like Thunder Nyan Nyan, Gemini Elf, and Water Omotics got edited, yet cards like the Amazons didnt? i find it funny...
