Ancient Lamp vs. Cyber Phoenix

I assume that Ancient Lamp targets, but I know that there is no end-all/be-all list out there of targeting monster effects.

Is it the case of the usual "you can make one opponent's monster be attacked" responsible for this being a targeting effect. One must be selected and singled out?

However Cyber Phoenix only protects your Machines from Spells and Traps. Ancient Lamp is a monster (duh).

Guess someone missed that part...anyway, Cyber Phoenix will NOT stop Ancient Lamp's effect of redirecting the attack to another monster.
