Another Chimeratech: Future Fusion + Cyber Phoenix face-up

Situation:

- I activate Future Fusion designating Chimeratech Overdragon, sending 15 machines from my deck to the grave.
- In my 2nd stand by phase after FF activation, I have a face-up Cyber Phoenix or (special summon it with Call of the Haunted).
- Now, COD enters the field, immediately triggering its effect.

- Cyber Phoenix text says: "While this card is in face-up Attack Position on your side of the field, negate the effects of any Spell or Trap Card that targets 1 Machine-Type monster on your side of the field." I assume that COD effect will send everything to the grave, including Cyber Phoenix and FF, but as they were sent at the same time, COD would remain on the field, because CP effect would prevent FF to destroy COD, is it right?

So, in the end, Cyber Phoenix would prevent Chimeratech from being destroyed in the scenario, right?
The only way I see to believe otherwise would be something like:
- Chimeratech enters the field and its effect triggers immediately. CP effect is aplying to COD the moment it entered the field (because it's continuous), thus FF immediately "stops to target" Chimeratech.
- All cards, including Cyber Phoenix and FF go to the grave at the same time.
- Now that FF is in the grave, it "remembers it was targeting Chimeratech" and as CP is no longer on the field, it destroys Chimeratech.

I believe this kind of scenario is not accurate, but it's the only way I see to rule that Chimeratech would be destroyed by its effect. It contradicts some similar cases too (Heavy- Decree + Call).

I'm not too sure about this one. Wouldn't this be more like "Jinzo" with "Heavy Storm" and "Call of the Haunted"?

I would say that "Chimeratech" would survive because at the time "Future Fusion" was removed from the field, it was being negated by the effect of "Cyber Phoenix".

After rereading this scenario, I have to agree with Simon. When Cyber Phoenix is special summoned to the Field, it will negate Future Fusion's targeting effect. Future Fusion remains negated as Chimeratech Overdragon sends both Future Fusion and Cyber Phoenix to the Graveyard at the same time. Thus, Chimeratch Overdragon survives!

I also have to agree. Cyber Phenix would protect Chymeratech as the CotH etc precedents.

Well, it's a good thing.

Another nice little trick for my Chimeratech deck. In fact, this scenario happened 3 or 4 times already, and I wanted to be sure I was playing right.
