Appropriate and Glow Moss...

So...3 questions?

1) Does Neo-spacian Glow Moss's effect activate Appropriate's effect since Moss's effect says they draw a card and the card will be drawn outside of the battle phase?

2) Does Glow Moss's effect activate if he is attacked face-down since he will be flipped face up before damage calc.?

3) If a chain of Appropriate's activates, making you draw four cards, and the first one's effect makes you draw the last two cards of your deck, but the second card drawn by this effect is the final piece of Exodia that you need to win. Will you win then by Exodia's effect, or will the chain finish resolving making you lose because you can no longer draw more cards to finish the effects?

There they are. I know the last one is a little spaz, but that just happened in a duel I had and there was a dispute over the winner. Plz post to help me answer these questions.

1) The effect of your face-up (already active) Appropriate will trigger (and form a new Chain after Glow Moss's effect resolves). However, note that you cannot activate Appropriate itself because of Neo-Spacian Glow Moss. Compare with the ruling:

• [Re: Graceful Charity] Your opponent cannot activate "Appropriate" after you activate "Graceful Charity" since the last effect that resolves with "Graceful Charity" is discarding, not drawing, and your opponent misses the timing. But if your opponent already has an active "Appropriate" face-up on the field, he/she can draw 2 cards after you activate "Graceful Charity".

2) No. Straight from the rulings:

• This effect activates when the attack is declared. It is a Trigger Effect and can be chained to. The act of drawing and revealing a card is resolved when the Trigger Effect resolves. If a face-down "Neo-Spacian Glow Moss" is attacked, its effect does not activate.

3) I'm not sure what you mean here. Elaborate?

I'm guessing that your Appropriate triggers twice, which go as Chain Links 1 and 2. Resolve Chain Link 2, draw 2 cards (1 of which is the last piece of Exodia; you now have 0 cards left in your Deck). You win the Duel. You can win a Duel between Chain Links (by Exodia, burn, etc.), but not during a single Chain Link.

thx much...i was a little confused about the first answer but i understand now. So like if i activate appropriate when they start their battle phase its effect will go when glow moss is attacked, but i can't activate it as a chain on glow moss and get its effect.

Remember that Appropriate has activation conditions. You can only activate it when the last thing to happen was your opponent drawing a card outside of their Draw Phase (this is NOT the same as your opponent drawing in the last Chain Link - see Graceful Charity).

But once you overcome that, whenever your opponent draws outside of their Draw Phase, you get 2 cards, REGARDLESS of when your opponent did the drawing (any Chain Link, any part of an effect, etc.).

With all Continuous Trap Cards, you cannot use their effects at the same time as you activate them. Examples are Ultimate Offering, Royal Oppression, etc.. A Continuous Card will only have its effect kick in, or be able to be used, once it has resolved to the field. Using that effect (in the case of manual activations like Ultimate Offering) must be done afterwards, separately as a new Chain Link. Cards like Appropriate will get triggered only after it has resolved (if your opponent chained to the activation (flipping face-up) of Appropriate with, say, Jar of Greed, your Appropriate would NOT trigger because of it, because it hasn't resolved to the field yet).

I'd like to point out that the effect of "Appropriate" is continuous and does not use the chain.

This, unfortunately, is not a true statement. Continuous Trap Cards like "Skill Drain", "Royal Decree" and "Shadow-Imprisoning Mirror" all have their effects become active in the same chain in which they are activated (flipped face-up). This is because their effects are truly Continuous. Continuous Trap Cards that have Ignition-like or Trigger-like effects are the ones that must already be face-up and resolved to the field before their effects can be used.
Examples are Ultimate Offering, Royal Oppression, etc..
Those are examples of Continuous Trap Cards with Ignition-like and Trigger-like effects.

Is it? Interesting. Well, in that case I'm not sure about the answer to the third question. I'm suddenly confused by the whole issue.

I was talking about Ignition-like and Trigger-like effects. Those are ones you use, as opposed to ones that automatically happen (the properly Continuous ones).

All properly Continuous effects will become active as soon as its card resolves to the field (i.e. Skill Drain, Royal Decree, etc.). I believe everything I said in my last post is still correct.
