Archfiend of gilfer

Is there a time when the effect of gilfer couod not be activated?.The card text reads that the effect can be activated whenever is sent to the graveyard regardless of how is sent ( graceful charity, painful choice, etc.) even when the equipped monster is destroyed as a result of battle or by the effectb like man-eater bug or smashing ground. Am I wrong?, because if is right, is an extremely annoying card. Can somebody make this clear for me please?

There are plenty of instances where Gilfer's cannot be activated. His text is considered "optional" which means in order to activate it, it has to be the last thing on the event chain to occur.

For instance, if you equip Gilfer to Woodland Sprite and then activate its effect (Woodland Sprite allows you to send a monster equipped to it to the graveyard to inflict 500 LP damage), Gilfer's effect will NOT occur because the last thing to happen in the event chain to happen was 500 LP damage being inflicted.

Also cannot be activated when dicarding it via magic jammer or raigeki break, right?

Correct, because in both of those instances, the last thing to happen is the effect of "Magic Jammer" or "Raigeki Break," and not "Archfiend of Gilfer" being sent to the Graveyard.
