Array of Revealing Light LOD-EN029

Array of Revealing Light
Field Spell

Declare 1 Type of monster. Any monster of the selected Type cannot attack during the turn it is Summoned (including Flip Summon and Special Summon).

An oft-overlooked card, it can play havok on most themed decks. The effect is very straightforward and simple. You play it, call 1 monster type (like Warrior or Spellcaster) and it can't attack the turn it was summoned. While I wouldn't main deck this card (unless I'm running a "Pyramid of Light" theme) it easily fits nicely in a side deck. Considering the strength of most theme decks such as Warriors or Zombies is to get many monsters on the field in 1 shot and all attack, this can effective stall them out so you can mount a better counter-attack. It can also be doubly painful against Gravekeeper Decks since aside from stalling them out (Declare "Spellcaster"), you end up destroying their main strength "Necrovalley" as well.

Because it's a field spell, it will work against your own monsters as well. However, "Array of Revealing Light" would be quite the unexpected card to whip out against your opponent.

it works nice in toon decks, sphinx decks, and deck revolving around stall or flip effects. vengeful bog spirit works much better though

It works but you can't call "Toon" as that is not a valid type. "Fiend" or "Dragon" would be valid types and as such work to prevent (though redundant) "Toon Summoned Skull" and "Blue-Eyes Toon Dragon" from attacking on the turn they are summoned.

HOWEVER, I believe his point is that YOU are running the toons so you are stalling your opponent from attacking so you both are on a level ground.

Not a bad card. It's kind of like 'Stumbling' except it won't force them into defense poistion and it'll only work on ONE type. Quite powerful when you go up against decks that have for the majority only one type of monster. For toons however you're better off with 'Vengeful bog Spirit'.
