Dekoichi is one of the "in cards" currently. Now I run fiends and I have these two monsters Dark Mimic lv1 and Dark Mimic lv3. The first works on flip effect like dekoichi, but lv3 works when sent to the graveyard. Which do you think is better to run 1 or 3? 1 is weak to NoC but might be easier to get off. Advice?

The Mimics are nice, and serve the purpose. The reason Dekoichi gets picked more often though are the better stats. It gives you another option once the flip takes place.

But hey... to each, his own.

don't forget about Des Lacooda...it's stats might be woeful, but at least it can flip itself back down, once per turn. that means you can use that tsukyomi for something else ;)

If you pull off Dark Mimics effects, they are awesome, i've been teching Lv1 and Lv3, I love the little suckers.

LV 1.. I run metamorphasis / TER control. So basically Id Run the LV 1 over the choo choo train.

My friend Run the train but, he also runs Cyber Twin Mecha Beat down. so oviously the little machine train will server another perpose once flipped and that is Limiter Removal which is the reason why he also runs it.

again its a matter of the deck. People play it for the heck of playing it, with out realizing its potential is far worse in a machine oriented deck.

I've had many a philosophical debate over the Mimics for a while now and both Mimics fill two potent voids for drawing power.

Mimic LV1 - Triggers when attacked or flipped. Works awesome as a flip summon followed by a tribute for the Dark Ruler. Problem is that he suffers the fate of NoC and the Mystic Swordsman LV 2's that are running amok.

Mimic LV3 - Slightly higher attack, will trigger when destroyed as a result of battle. You can potentially bring him out face up or special summon him in defense position via Last Will and get a nice draw. Problem is that he suffers the fate of simple monster removal cards in the game.

When the need arises for me to get a little more draw power out of my deck (such as my Exodia one) I actually run 1 of each and have some great success with it. Sometimes I get the flip, sometimes I get the destruction, and ever now and then I pull off a nice special summoning and get 3 cards out of the whole ordeal. I never consider using the cards as attackers in any sense, only as a drawing/tribute resource, so I probably wouldn't run the train anyway. 8^D

Reason Dekoichi gets the nod is cuz its got better atk/def, and is a flip effect, which means Tsukuyomia abuse. of course in a fiend deck....you would wanna run mimic over this
