I want to say this is obvious that it will not work. But I'm getting people saying otherwise. Please tell me if DDS will be summoned if destroyed while BotL is on the field. I can't find anything on this anywhere.

I think the most important thing to look at is the last word in Banisher of the Light's text. Banisher of the Light says:
"As long as this card remains face-up on the field, any card sent to the Graveyard is removed from play instead."
This means that instead of a monster being sent to the grave it is removed from play. A monster does not hit the grave and then get removed from play, it is simply removed from play.
this means that unless D.D. Survivor is face down defense and destroyed by Mystic Swordsman LV2, White Ninja, etc. then it will be special summoned at the end of the turn. (monsters are fliped face up during an attack before it is considered destroyed, and then sent to the graveyard.)
