Battle Phase Questions

Couple questions:

1. Can a player skip the Battle Phase? Like your currently in Main Phase 1, can you proceed to Main Phase 2?

2. If a player enter his Battle Phase, yet declares no attacks, and decides to exit, does that mean that Player had just condcted his Battle Phase even though he hasn't declared any attacks? Do they have to be successful attacks in order to "conduct your battle phase"?

3. If question 2 answer is "no", then lets say I have a Life Point advantage +2000, Me 8000, Opponent 6000, and I declare an attack with The Agent of Force - Mars and my opponent responds with Magic Cylinder... then I chain to his Magic Cylinder with Mystik Wok and offer The Agent of Force - Mars with an ATK value of 2000. After that chains resolves, I'm ahead by +4000 in LP, Me 10,000, Opponent 6000, I proceed to Main Phase 2, can I offer the Agent of Judgment - Saturn in Main Phase 2 since no actual attack went through?

1. a player can skips his Battle Phase if he:

a. has no monsters

b. doesn't want 2 attack

c. if afraid of attacking (if opponent has Mirror Force and like 5 f/d cards and all ur monsters are overpowered, so u dont want 2 risk attacking)

2. not sure about tat but i think its yes. when u enter the Battle Phase, u have conducted it.

1. You can skip Battle Phase, but you will immediately go to End Phase, not Main Phase 2.

2. You have to declare an attack first, then you enter your Battle Phase automatically.

3. If you read the rulling for Agent of Judgment - Saturn

2. You cannot activate "The Agent of Judgment - Saturn"'s effect during Main Phase 2. You CAN activate "The Agent of Judgment - Saturn"'s effect during Main Phase 1 even if you have to skip your Battle Phase because of a card effect.
You see, you can't use his effect on Main Phase 2.

It is stated in UDE website that (see link here):
D. Battle Phase
Once attack preparations have been made in Main Phase 1, you enter the Battle Phase. If you do not wish to conduct a Battle Phase, your turn proceeds to the End Phase.
This says that when you declare/prepare an attack, you automatically enter the Battle Phase. If not, you go to End Phase.

That is slightly outdated considering the rulings already on the mailing list. Part of the difference is if you say "I won't want to go to the battle phase at all", in which case you have your main phase and done. But (and as stated on the judges list), you can enter the battle phase and then leave the battle phase without doing anything. As long as you are clear in your statements, this is allowable because this way you can summon say "Berserk Gorilla" in Main Phase 2 and not be forced to attack with him this turn.

Likewise, just saying you want to attack is not sufficient to enter the Battle Phase. Your opponent may want to do something in your Main Phase 1 before you enter your BP, so you want to be perfectly clear about phase changes.

it seems to me that whether you go to END phase
or MAIN2 after not attacking is irelevant.
whatever you want to do in your MAIN1 you would do it,not needing
MAIN2 (if you are choosing not to attack)

the only exception i can think of is what densetsu_x
mentioned (berserk gorilla)

i maybe wrong about this, but i think that the battle phase is optional. if it were no to be the case, the effect of helpoemer would kick in all the time, eve if i didnt attack at all. maybe this would shed some light.

"If your opponent chooses not to conduct a Battle Phase, there is no timing for the end of the Battle Phase, so the effect of "Helpoemer" is not activated. The same is true if the Battle Phase is skipped due to a card effect."

...or maybe im posting something irrelevant to the case...in any way, its something to look.

The Battle Phase is indeed optional, unless you have a card like Berserk Gorrilla, in which case you must enter it. If you are able to and choose to skip your Battle Phase, you will not enter Main Phase 2. You will go straight to the End Phase.

I'm confused now. Assuming you don't have "Berserk Gorilla", can you enter Battle Phase, don't attack, end it, then enter Main Phase 2?

I really thought if you enter battle phase, you at least have to attack.

i think its correct, if you have cards effects that u want to activate in the battle phase, but dont want to attack, i think that u can enter the battle phase, not attack and let the effect kick in, then proceed to main phase 2....but then again, its my point of view only, im not quite sure about it.
