book of moon vs: Exiled Force

Hello all,

Alright, to me it would seem common sense to say that if some one summons exiled force and I activate book of moon the effect of exiled force wouldn't go through.

Yet, I have found that through my own common sense there was actually an opposing force. Which I can understand I may not know of this rule. But, moderators or even people who may have gone through my situation.

If I book of moon exiled isn't his chance to use his effect gone? Since he is no longer face up....

Granted timing is important. However Book of Moon doesn't need any trigger before you can activate the effect it only needs a valid target at activation. Torrential requires that you activate it in response to a summon, however it also requires there to be a monster on the field it can destroy when it is activated so it can fall victim to the same problem as Book of Moon.

Exiled activates its effect and destroys the only other monster on the field. Neither Book of Moon nor Torrential (assuming that Exiled was summoned and using its effect prior to the response) could be activated as there would be no monster to target. Now in the event there was another monster on the field then certainly you could activate either one. I think that was the point of the "it doesn't matter whether they use priority" statement.
