Book of Moon vs. Monster Tokens.

Can I use Book of Moon on an Insect Monster Token (or any other monster tokens) produced by Insect Queen into face up defense position. NetRep ruling says about Book of Moon is you cannot flip a Monster Token face-down because Monster Tokens are always face-up. However, it did not say that you can't use Book of Moon on them either. Does this mean Book of Moon simply change the battle position of the Monster Token into faced-up defense position?

it said you cannot fiip a monster token face down.

that preaty much that BOok of moon targeting a monster token is an illegal move.

you can either fry the book of moon or not do it at all.

tokens are token, they can only get removed and so on, but not turned face down.

i belive there is a topic someware around here that was about this.

tokens are a invalid target for book of the moon

use a book of the moonin this case is called "kara uchi" or "empty hit"

in this case, player may not activate BOM or activate BOM to target a another monster

I wouldn't say 'fry the "Book of Moon"'. As it was an illegal move, and if it can be rewinded to the point where it happened, then no foul.

Think of a Monster Token as just an "image" there is no other side to a token so they can not be turned face down.  If the token leaves the field it is gone because it has no substance only the "image" while it is on the field.  Therefore you can't have one in the graveyard, or in hand, or removed from play.  It is easiest to simply remember that "tokens are not cards".

Be VERY careful with that description though. Sheep Tokens still count towards monster boosting effects such as United We Stand.

Think of tokens as monsters with a few special rules attached to them such as:
1) They have no face down position, so they are immune to those type effects
2) When they are destoryed or removed from play, they are simply gone, that is why they do not count for effects such as Morphing Jar #2 and Chaos Emperor Dragon.

They can still attack, get equip cards and be used for tributes (unless otherwise stated like Scapegoat)

Right, Tokens are "Monsters" but not "Cards" an important fact when dealing with things like Chaos Emperor's effect, as opposed to United We Stand.
I have never seen a ruling on Tokens vs. Relinquished or Sword Hunter. Anyone know if this has a ruling?

Could monster tokens become treated as equip spell cards by the effect of Relinquished, Sword Hunter, etc.?

a token may be equipped on relinquished

but not on swords hunter because the monster destroyed by swords hunter on batlle go to grave first

since tokens cannot go to grave...

a token may be target as type for "tribe infection virus" efct ot even DNA surgery and such

Tokens ARE considered cards while they are on the field (important for effects like that of Secret Barrel). The reason Chaos Emperor Dragon doesn't do anything is because Tokens can't go to the Graveyard (which is where cards need to go to count for CED).

Tokens also can be equipped to Relinquished. As for Sword Hunter, I am not certain because I don't remember if the destroyed card hits the Graveyard and gets equipped from there (in which case tokens wouldn't work) or if the card gets equipped immediately when destroyed.
