Bottomless Trap Hole sequence

I think I'm clear on Bottomless Trap Hole sequences, since it removes from play the last summoned monster(s). But want to be sure...

I was playing my son yesterday and I normal summoned Monk Fighter and then Special Summoned Master Monk (yes, I like playing this broken card) from my hand, he activates BTH and yet I have Ultimate Offering on the field and so to protect my Master Monk I payed Ultimate's 500 LP to Normal Summon a Gemini Elf. We determined that Gemini Elf was destroyed by BTH's effect and not Master Monk. Correct?

It seems correct to me based on the ruling:

"¢ [Re: Bottomless Trap Hole] Only the monster(s) that triggered "Bottomless Trap Hole" by being Normal / Flip / Special Summoned can be destroyed & removed from play by "Bottomless Trap Hole's" effect. Example: Player A Normal Summons "Dark Blade", and Player B activates "Bottomless Trap Hole" in response (Chain Link 1), then Player A chains the effect of his face-up "Ultimate Offering" to Tribute "Dark Blade" for "Summoned Skull" (Chain Link 2). "Ultimate Offering's" effect resolves first, and "Dark Blade" is Tributed for "Summoned Skull". Then the effect of "Bottomless Trap Hole" disappears because the monster it would have applied to is no longer on the field.

Master Monk is Destroyed because.-

Master Monk>BTH>Ultimate Offering

the chain resolves backwards

Ultimate Offering and Gemini Elf is Summoned into the field>then BTH Resolves and Removes Maste Monk =s

Master Monk was the card that BTH was activated in response to so it will be the monster removed from play...look at the ruling you quoted again...

"Only the monster(s) that triggered "Bottomless Trap Hole" by being Normal / Flip / Special Summoned can be destroyed & removed from play by "Bottomless Trap Hole's effect"

I think he forgot about the part where the original monster was tributed to bring out a new monster, and simply took it as the new monster became the "selected monster" for removal.

Ah, thanks... I see now... I obviously ignored the important text from that ruling! Doh!

And I didn't see the connection to my sequence with this one:

"¢ If the opponent activates "Monster Reborn" and then chains "Call of the Haunted" (so that 2 monsters are Summoned in the same chain), and then you activate "Bottomless Trap Hole" after that chain resolves only the monster Summoned by chain link 1 ("Monster Reborn") is removed from play.

Thankgoodness I asked! heh. And Thanks again.

Ugh! I'm still not fully getting when you can activate Bottomless Trap Hole and when you can't... I apologize that it's taking me so long... so here's my other sequence I'm not sure about:

My opponent has Bottomless Trap Hole set... I tribute summon Dark Dust Spirit and his effect destroys all monsters on the field activates.

Can my opponent chain Bottomless Trap Hole to the trigger effect of Dark Dust Spirit?

If yes he can... for him to activate Bottomless he has to chain it to the effect of Dark Dust Spirit or he loses his chance to activate it once the effect of Dark Dust Spirit resolves. Right?

Dark Dust Spirit is a Mandatory Trigger Effect that occurs as soon as he is summoned to the field, so he removes your Turn Player Priority at that point. Your opponent has no real choice in the matter if he wishes to activate any effects in response, other than Forced Back or Solemn Judgment, but to chain to that Trigger Effect.

So yes, if he activates Bottomless Trap Hole, it will be in a Chain to his "lightning Vortex-like" effect, and any response after all other face-up monsters have been destroyed, will be incorrect timing with Bottomless Trap Hole.
