Sinister Control
if you use brain control and opponent chains book of moon to it do you still get it?

like book of life,

when u activate book of life and the oppponent has 1 mosnter in their graveyard, and your oppoentn chains call of the haunted to it, book of life's revival effect still takes places, becasaeu you satisfied the requirements........

im asking, because unlike snatch, brain control is a normal magic card

when u activated brain control, your oppoient's monster was face up, does it have to remain face up to resolve??

and IF brain control works with an opponent's chained book of moon, does that mean, enemy controller would work too when book of moon is chianed?

why does it need to be face up when it resovlves?
didnt it satisfy its activation requirement?
Because it's more than an activation requirement, it is an effect requirement.

The effect itself allows you to take control of a face-up monster.

Brain Control only affects face-up monsters, what if the effect were to resolve and later at the End Phase, the target were go face-down? It would remain there right?

This is based on Return from the Different Dimension and Book of Moon against monsters Special Summoned by this effect.
No, in order for Brain Control to resolve properly and take control of the monster it ust be face-up throughout.

After resolution, it doesn't matter what position the monster is in, it will return to the previous controller's side of the field.

Brain Control works exactly like Enemy Controller.

As for Book of Life, your opponent possessing a monster in their graveyard is an activation requirement. If you can't remove that monster, then Book of Life still summons a Zombie.

That actually is a bit of an inconsistancy, they just decided that both targets were not required in order to resolve properly.

To me it goes against the targeting rules, it should be like The Shallow Grave, but hey... i don't make the rules.

What about Return from a Different Dimension and a Monster Card who is flipped face-down due to Book of Moon. It doesn't return Removed From Play.
Any monster Special Summoned by RFDD should be removed at the end of the turn (as long as it is still on field) no matter what position it is in. Similar to how Jowgen still destroys face-down monsters Special Summoned.

Honestly though, i haven't seen a ruling, and i'm not 100% sure of it.

I was baffled when I first heard it.

To me it's like Change of Heart, "Select 1 Monster" compared to Enemy Controller, "Change the Battle Position of 1 face-up monster". Change of Heart affects that 1 whole monster, and Enemy Controller only affects face-up.

I believe it was Fiendish Envoy who said if a monster Special Summoned by Return from the Different Dimension were to go face-down, it is irrelevent for it to return Removed From Play since they were Special Summoned face-up. I agree with that.

The Monster could be anywhere, Removed again, destroyed and sent to the graveyard, in the hand, sent to the deck, etc. I highly doubt Return from the Different Dimension would send these cards back Removed From Play, it only effect those who are face-up Special Summoned by this effect remaining on the field. This should hold true for face-down, so it should remain there.

Anyways, this is just my opinion. Propbably just another case of me thinking to hard.

In terms of Enemy Controller, i am refering to the second "control" effect.

- Offer 1 monster on your side of the field as a Tribute. Select 1 face-up monster on your opponent's side of the field. Take control of the selected card until the End Phase of the turn this card is activated.

That is identical to Brain Control. They both only affect face-up monsters.

As far RFDD, that is a topic for another thread.
