Sinister Control
if you use brain control and opponent chains book of moon to it do you still get it?

like book of life,

when u activate book of life and the oppponent has 1 mosnter in their graveyard, and your oppoentn chains call of the haunted to it, book of life's revival effect still takes places, becasaeu you satisfied the requirements........

im asking, because unlike snatch, brain control is a normal magic card

when u activated brain control, your oppoient's monster was face up, does it have to remain face up to resolve??

and IF brain control works with an opponent's chained book of moon, does that mean, enemy controller would work too when book of moon is chianed?

Ok, getting back on topic. Pretty bad example on my end, but I knew there had to be some example that supports it.

How about Magical Scientist? If a Fusion goes face-down via Book of Moon, it doesn't return. There Special Summoned face-up.
Well actually this is way off topic. The original question was regarding Brain Control.

Why not start a new thread about RFDD?

I'd be happy to explain it for you.

Brain Control works exactly like Change of Heart. the monster must return to the original owner no matter what position it is.

so even if you book it on your side it will still return

How is Brain Control like Change of Heart? By your logic...

Change of Heart can take on any Monster on your opponent's side of the field, face-up or face-down. It return because Change of Heart places a condition on "that monster". Brain Control can only target face-up.

You completely missed my point, by the way, if you Special Summoned a Fusion Monster by means of Magical Scientist, and it were to be placed face-down say by Book of Moon, it isn't returned to the Fusion Deck, they were Special Summoned face-up, and the condition for the Fusion Monster is no longer on it, since you can't determine where that Fusion Monster is. I just thought the same logic should fall for Return from the Different Dimension, yet I was told it was not, and yet again I was told it could. That's why I brought up Brain Control and Book of Moon.

Anyways, I believe your new here, welcome. Enjoy your stay! :D

Also, I'm takin on novastar's advice, and starting a new thread, make sure your drop by and drop a couple of posts of your thoughts.

Again, welcome.

As for Brain Control, I realize what I said was in error. -_-

Sometimes slowing down and reading the text carefully, you'll answer your own question:

Brain Control
Pay 800 Life Points. Select 1 face-up monster on your opponent's side of the field. Take control of the "selected card" until the End Phase of the turn this card is activated.

This would indicate it the selected card itself would return to the previous controller face-up or face-down, the condition is on the whiole card itself.

Sorry if I had caused any confusion.

What would happen in this scenario as I am still a little unsure.

You have 2 face up monsters on your side of the field and your opponent activates Brain Control (or any targetting effect card) and you activate Interdimensional Matter Transporter leaving you with 1 monster, what would happen?

A - The monster that has been targetted by Brain Control would be removed from play briefly leaving 1 monster left on the field. At this point the opponent would select the other monster to complete the effect of Brain Control and would gain that monster instead of the one removed from play by IMT

B - The monster that has been targetted by Brain Control would be removed from play briefly by IMT leaving 1 monster left on the field. Since the target of the effect of Brain Control is gone, Brain Control becomes meaningless and just goes to the graveyard

C - Something else would happen.

Could you please help as I am still unsure on some of these rules and there seems to be so many discreprencies.

It's a shame Konami have not updated their rulings properly in the instruction manual. It still doesn't mention anything about Priority, the new changes that were introduced relating to players being able to to have their 1 turn position switch even if another card has already been used to alter the position. Also, there are still quite a few cards out there where they need errating, such as Ultimate Offering.
