I hear you. "D. D. Warrior Lady" and "Fiber Jar" kinda breaks the rule. I guess both of this cards belongs to "Special monsters that are Licensed to Break the Rule".

Exactly. The other judges and I reasoned this all out at the Pre-Release right up until the point we're at on this post right NOW <laffin> WHY does there ALWAYS have to be an exception to the rule in this game? <beating his head against the wall>

Or, since "D. D. Warrior Lady" and "Fiber Jar"'s effects does not involve placing them back to the field, then DDWL's effect can be used because her effect won't put her back in the Field. With "Fiber Jar", since the destination is the Deck, then it is OK for him to go there.

In summary:
If a card is on its way to the Graveyard, RFP, or in the Deck, then it is allowed to activate effect that involve sending them to the Graveyard, RFP, or in the Deck.

  • DDWL is ok since it is alive on the field, it can send itself to the Graveyard. If DDWL is destroyed, then it is still OK to use her effect because she is going to RFP.
  • "Fiber Jar" is ok to be sent to the Deck because it was originaly on its way to the Graveyard.
  • "Giant Trunade" can NOT send cards that are in route to the Graveyard because "Giant Trunade" is trying to send it back to the Player's hand, which is not one of the allowable options (Graveyard, RFP, or in the Deck)
I would like to have some examples that would contradict this rule. My brain is half awake right now.

ok, lets just say this:

brain jackers effect cannot be activated after it is destroyed. period. thats they way that it works, so there ya go. nothing you say or do or complain about it going to change that...

as for DD warrior lady- its effect activates during damage calculation

fiber- but wouldnt it be in the graveyard if it was destroyed?

if at all you find more of the need to contest, go to netrep and look up brain jacker. (or DD warrior lady or fiber jar)

We understand that, "That's the way it works." we're not contesting that. What we're after is WHY that's the way it works. Understanding the game mechanics behind the "That's the way it works" helps us all to rule on a great many other cards. At times in this game there are the exceptions to the rule....that's what we're attempting to reason out, weather this is one of them.

D. D. Warrior Lady's effect activates after damage calculation but before it's sent to the graveyard, as does Fiber Jar. This is why Brain Jacker is confusing. Why doesn't it do the same?

This looks like a good topic for a Netrep Article.

The ruling for this sounds more like a bouncer's cry at the end of the night, "Okay folks....time to leave! You can go to his house, you can go to her house, you can go anywhere you want....but you can't stay HERE!"

Once a monster is considered destroyed it can be removed from play, it can get combined with your deck, it can and usually will go to the graveyard....but it can't stay on the field!

actually John.... i dont even think Konami knows why it works.. they just want to make things difficult... (or Shuiesha is pinching their ears saying "THIS IS HOW IT WORKS AND IF YOU DONT AGREE, YOURE FIRRED!") (yes i know i spelled that 'firred', i did it on purpose... sounds more like donald trump :p) (PS. DONT watch the apprentince... it blows.... bad)

in other news: umm... yeah
