Dark/Spellcaster/4/1600/1000
Effect: When this card is Normal Summoned successfully, put 1 Spell Counter on it (max. 1). Increase the ATK of this card by 300 points for each Spell Counter on this card. Also, remove 1 Spell Counter from this card to destroy 1 Spell or Trap Card on the field.
Rulings
1. Placing a Spell Counter on "Breaker, the Magical Warrior" is a chain that begins after it is Summoned. If your opponent chains "Trap Hole" or "Ring of Destruction" to the placement of a Spell Counter on "Breaker, the Magical Warrior", "Trap Hole" / "Ring of Destruction" resolves before the Spell Counter is placed on "Breaker, the Magical Warrior", so you cannot chain "Breaker, the Magical Warrior"'s effect.
2. "Breaker, the Magical Warrior"'s effect is Spell Speed 1 so you cannot chain it to the activation of a Spell Card.
3. You can use "Breaker, the Magical Warrior"'s effect multiple times in the same turn as long as you can keep re-supplying him with Spell Counters (using "Pitch-Black Power Stone", etc.).
4. Removing a Spell Counter is a cost; if you remove a Spell Counter from "Breaker, the Magical Warrior" and your opponent chains "Ring of Destruction", the Spell Counter has already been removed so "Ring of Destruction" deals 1600 damage to each player; "Breaker, the Magical Warrior"'s effect that destroys a card is still applied even though "Breaker, the Magical Warrior" himself has been destroyed at that point.
5. If I chain "Ring of Destruction" to the placement of a Spell Counter on "Breaker, the Magical Warrior", "Ring of Destruction" does 1600 damage to each player because the action of placing the Spell Counter has not resolved.
6. [Re: Divine Wrath] You can activate "Divine Wrath" in a chain to a Trigger Effect that activates when the Effect Monster is Summoned such as "Breaker the Magical Warrior", "Dark Magician of Chaos", or "Marauding Captain". The opponent must declare the activation of "Marauding Captain"'s effect before "Divine Wrath" can be activated. In this case, the monster that would have been Special Summoned remains in the opponent's hand.
7. [Re: Enemy Controller] If your opponent Normal Summons "Breaker the Magical Warrior", "Breaker the Magical Warrior"'s effect to place a Spell Counter on him activates, and you chain "Enemy Controller" to that effect and take control of "Breaker the Magical Warrior". In that case, resolve "Enemy Controller" first and "Breaker the Magical Warrior"'s effect of placing a Spell Counter second.
8. [Re: Pitch-Black Power Stone] You can use a Spell Counter from a card like "Breaker the Magical Warrior" and replace "Breaker the Magical Warrior"'s Spell Counter with "Pitch-Black Power Stone" on the same turn (and use "Breaker the Magical Warrior"'s effect again that same turn, if you wish).
Today, we take a look at Blast's big brother: Breaker the Magical Warrior.
The artwork is awesome and it has the stats/effect to further increase its popularity among duelists.
With the spell counter it has 1900 ATK and the effect gives it the ability to kill any bothersome spell/trap card the opponent may have. Reflect Bounder is walking Magical Cylinder. This guy's a walking Mystical Space typhoon. It can take out any potential trap that would have stopped it during the battle phase.
While this card only has 1 spell counter you can resupply him quite easily. The easiest method being pitch black power stone( preferably multiple copies). It'll hold the counter until Breaker can use them. Apprentice magician is also possible and when destroyed in battle can summon another one.
Problems for this card? Plenty of them. First off, its gotta be normal summoned in order to be place. This means possibly loosing it to any trap card that counters summoning. There's nothing worst than wasting a summon for this guy just for him to get killed before you get a chance to use him.
Second, you can only load 1 spell counter on him at a time. At most his strength will be 1900. And if you don't normal summon him he'll only be at 1600. Even if you do use his effect, keep an eye on him. At 1600 he won't last long.
Its limited to one. While you can have triple copies of other cards that go in a spell counter-spellcaster deck (royal magical library, Magical plant, apprentice magician, pitch-black power stone) you can only have one of him and he's not searchable. Any combo you had planned for this guy better be adaptable to other spellcasters in the deck.
In sealed format, this is a fairly decent card. Its in a booster meant for spellcasters and there plenty of cards for it to get spell counters. 3/5
In traditional, this card is also decent. One more Mystical space typhoon isn't bad. 3/5
In advance, not bad either. The real problem is the fact its limited to 1. That reduces the possiblities of using it as best as possible. 3/5
