if cannon soldier is on my side of the field ,then i summon blade knight,my opponent plays ,bottemless trap hole, can i tribute blade knight with cannon soldiers effect before bottemless effect?

Ok, let's be clear about this.

When you summon Blade Knight, you have to declare that you want to use Cannon Soldier's effect at that time. Likewise your opponent should also ask if you want to activate an effect first. If you decide to use Cannon Soldier's effect at that time, Blade Knight is tributed and in the Graveyard. If you decide to pass, your opponent can then Bottomless Trap Hole your Blade Knight. At that point it is too late to change your mind and use Cannon Soldier's effect. The key though is that your opponent must give you the chance to activate the effect first or pass. If he jumps the gun, you can call a replay of sorts since you didn't have that chance.

I'm spelling it out that way because in NO WAY can you just say "In reponse to your BTH, I use Cannon Soldier's effect." It ends up looking that way because of poor and sloppy play but the proper procedure is what I detailed above.

Yea you're correct and definitely right about the procedure. The majority of players, probably even myself, would just activate the Bottomless and not ask if hes using Cannon Soldier's effect. ;x

whats with this always giving hints. first it happend when you summon, if you ask will the summon even be successfull supposedly your giving hints.

you ask if they will use an effect since they have priority and the same deal.

Dude, seriously people need to stop with that, its just a custom that we should have had been doing since early in the game just that not many spotted it out till IOC.

really as the non turn player you should always ask if they will use an effect, even if the situation looks stupid, and i know cause i ask all my opponents all the time, yet they never ask me.

they summon a soldier on a blank field hey, they have priority you ask them.

they pass on it, blow up the soldier, bottomless, torrential who cares.

just aslong as you do what you gotta do.

really, if your the turn player all you should be asking is "will the summon be successful"

thats all you should be asking.
