Card Lists

Does anyone have or know where I can get a list that breaks out cards by what they do? For example, they might list all monsters that are searchers, or all cards that boost life points, etc.

This would make deck construction considerably easier (especially for those of us who have not memorized every single card in the game.)

Actually, you can do that now with RONINâ„¢, but I think -- if I recall correctly -- that Deck Studioâ„¢ will also have the ability to interface with RONINâ„¢ for that very purpose.

Interface with yes....but compile the rulings for the cards listed and only those listed?....or just connect with and then you have to search for the cards and rulings one by one?

On a side note here it appears that it might be a good idea to run a shameless plug once a month for RONIN in the General Discussion board. As new members join it might alert them to it. From the earlier parts of this thread it seems that a good many of the new memebers don't search this site for all their available resources (and I'm as guilty as the next person)

;) You've never used RONINâ„¢?

From what I can tell, it will use the same technology as the Favorites in RONINâ„¢ currently. Your deck list will then be used to print out only the rulings for those cards listed in that 'favorites folder' just like one would do inside RONINâ„¢ currently. (The precise terminology that the guys are using isn't in front of me right now). We are just moving it (or copying it, rather) into Deck Studioâ„¢ for precisely the reasons you mentioned. Since Deck Studioâ„¢ is actually a deck building software, it makes sense that such a feature should be included there and not just RONINâ„¢. Likewise, your current RONINâ„¢ Favorites, those that you have already set up with your deck lists, will be able to import into Deck Studioâ„¢ so that you don't have to recreate them all over again.

It all sounds very complicated to me, but, then, that's why I'm not a programmer. ;)

I should have said that by 'interface', I mean that the design of the Empyre Suite is such that it is all modular. My original design (that has soooo been upstaged by these guy's work and made better) was to have several different independent software applications that could be used separately or all together. One would increase functionality with the addition of one or more of the other applications. So they all interface with each other, but it's a modular design so that as you add applications to your "Suite", it functions all together as one piece of software rather than multiple applications.

Of course I'm using RONIN....I'm just not using it to it's full capacity obviously
We are in the process of producing a User's Manual for RONINâ„¢. All software from this point out will have a full, formal User's Manual released with the 1.0 version of that application. That way, people won't be in the dark at all about the depth that these things have.

I have to say, when I look over the original plans for RONINâ„¢ (originally called Manticore), I can see the base design still in place. But this software does so much more than I ever imagined was possible. And I have high expectations for the rest of the Suite as well.

But MAGUSâ„¢ Professional is where I think that EGI will make the mark and truly revolutionize the way things are done in tournaments. :D

oooo ... I just had a thought ... what if you could have a way to get each person in a tournament to use Deck Studioâ„¢ to build their deck list. It's submitted to the TO who imports those lists into the MAGUSâ„¢ system with a single mouse click (okay, maybe three mouse clicks "Open", "Import", "Okay") ... which then interfaces with RONINâ„¢ and builds a single master list of every card being played in that day's tournament in order to print out a single official rulings list of those cards?

No wasting time flipping through pages of rulings for cards that aren't even being played that day. Or even better, just having those rulings within RONINâ„¢ already set to go for easy lookup right there.

Hmm ... evil thoughts arising ...

[More evil thoughts: Can you imagine the statistical information that one could pull from such a thing? What's cards are used more often/least often? What cards are consistently in the Top 10? What cards are consistently in the losing 10? etc etc]

No wonder he's at the top of Empyre Group. Good ideas Bishop, that can greatly help the tournament organization and deck checklists and give more time to additional chores to the OT and the Judges.
