I have a friend who is playing this deck. If he chains several magic and traps together including Jar of Greed if he draws a card for that immediately upon activation hasnt he just killed the chain?

Technically, yes, he's misplayed the card, unless "Jar of Greed" was the last card added to the chain.

You do not draw for "Jar of Greed" until it resolves.

And no, you don't pick the order of how the chain resolves. It resolves in reverse order of how it was built.

Okay

Its not like he got Heavy Stormed he's just trying to set off the previously set magic/traps and if he plays Jar and draws then his cards which are dependant of where they went off in the chain all get screwed up. He resolves Jar by drawing and then everything after that is a new chain. Thats my thinking.

No, If he actiates Jar of Greed then CS, it deals 800. If he activetes Gracful Charity, CS, then Jar.

He draws a card, opp, loses 800lp, he draws 3 cards and discards 2

It seems you missed the point of what he said Absird. He's saying that he activated "Jar of Greed", and then drew his card, then chained to "Jar of Greed" with other cards to make the chain bigger for his "Chain Strike".

He misplayed the cards, plain and simple.
