ok at the store i play at people use effect monsters as a part of a chain but noly spell speed 2 can be used in a chain this is what happens normally
player A summons a tribe infecting virus
player B uses trap hole
player a uses tribs efect before he dies
as far as i know you cant do this am i right or wrong so i guess the main question is can you use effect monsters on your turn as a chain not the start of the chain but chain link 2 or something

Likely what you're seeing is the non-turn player activating Trap Hole before asking the turn player if they wish to activate Tribe Infecting Virus's effect. It often happens that way. This is how it should work...

Player A summons Tribe Infecting Virus, player A has priority to activate TIV's effect at this point should they so choose.

Player B asks if player A would like to use TIV's effect at this time, or player A announces that they are activating TIV's effect.

After TIV's effect is activated OR if player A decides NOT to activated TIV's effect, player B has their first opportunity to respond to the summoning of TIV and may activate their Trap Hole.

If TIV's effect has been activated and Trap Hole was chained to it then Trap Hole becomes chain link 2 on the chain and resolves first destroying TIV. Then TIV's effect resolves.

Ignition effect..

Suka044,

How's it going. In your senerio, with Player 1 wanting to activate the effect of Tribe, he surely can. Up until Divine Wraith, there wasn't a card that can negate the effects of certain cards. With Trap Hole being activated, Player 1 can use the effect of Tribe before being destroyed. Certain cards, like Tribe can be activated immediatly upon summoning, if you didn't know. I hope this helps... Greg

ok i get it so well what happens if
player A summons tribe
player b asks if he wants to use the effect and player a says no
player b uses trap hole

does player a now have another chance to use its effect?

No, player A has passed priority and could not then chain TIV's effect to Trap Hole. TIV's effect is spell speed 1, Trap Hole is spell speed 2. You cannot chain a spell speed 1 to a spell speed 2.

You're quite welcome. It sounds as though your store needs someone like yourself who is willing to invest a bit of time and put forth the effort to clarify and learn rulings. Why not look into becoming a judge and helping out the situation on a long term basis?

buahh...men, that's what i want to do, but here in mexico, it almost impossible to make yourself a judge. but, good things come to those who wait.

you can take the test online if your still up for it.

and if its still on line of course.

new mechanic was initiated at the arrival of IOC.

a player has priority to activate Speed 1 and speed 2 effects before the opponent can respond.

On the same note, Levia Dragon - Daedalus is a Spell Speed 1 effect right? Meaning he couldn't use his ability in response to MST, Dust Tornado, Ring of Destruction, Offerings to the Doomed, or any card played on the opponent's turn to destroy him or "Umi"? Or am I wrong?
Whoever summoned Daedalus would need to be given a chance to activate its ability before the opponent could activate MST or Dust Tornado to destroy the "Umi", or Ring or Offerings to kill it, yes?
The same thing if Trap Hole was used on it, like TIV above, would apply, I assume... you could sacrifice your "Umi" to wipe everything off the field, opponent could (Bottomless) Trap Hole him, and all effects would resolve, correct?

You are correct on all accounts. :)
