bumbling around that other site's q & a saw a thread that basically said chimeratech is now destroyed by future fusion's effect even if cyber phoenix is on field...thread was locked - no why or how this works at all...no discussion....what happened? and why - if this changed - is it not "announced"? - a ton of people are gonna get the shaft thinking they know how this works...also - what about spell canceller?
which card ruling changed? future fusion? cyber phoenix?

go read... last post by mod said its destroyed & she locked it...also, looks to be a post by simon key on the thread....

i mean dang... i was using my machine deck last night and doing exactly that with the cyber phoenix & spell canceller.... sigh...

it would be major suckage indeed....

maybe i would read this thread if i had a link.

Regardless of reading it or not. At the time chimera comes into play cyber negates the targetting effect of ff instantly. when cyber and ff are removed the targetting is still being negated right up until they leave the field and once theyve left the field the targetting cannot take hold of chimera again so he lives. thats about the simplest way i can think of to explain it. thats just the way it is. if this thread you saw gives reasons why it shouldnt work that way please post the link for more details.

sory about the no link... couldnt get it to drag...
and you arent telling me anything i did not know - or so i thought...i hope this has not changed....any way

pojo> message boards >yu gi oh> yu gi oh tcg q & a>cyber phoenix + future fusion

cp dosent prevent targeting tho'... just negates effect ... look at loop with snatch...

I have no idea why the thread was locked. The Pojo mods seem to be locking things left and right lately for no reason..

Anyway....the information we received directly from UDE at Nats states that "Chimeratech" would not survive in this situation. No explanation, just that it would not survive, despite the fact of previous precedents being set by other rulings.

The other interesting thing that's happened is the "Aegis of Gaia" ruling received a reversal shortly after Nationals so that it now matches the older "Call of the Haunted"/"Royal Decree"/"Heavy Storm" ruling.

The ruling for "Chimeratech"/"Future Fusion"/"Cyber Phoenix" is now the 'odd man out' ruling for these types of scenarios.

Suffice it to say....until Konami/UDE tells us differently, any/all of the L3s that worked Nationals will be ruling this as we were told during Nats.

Wait a minute. What ruling for Aegis of Gaia? I haven't heard anything. Please elaborate.

The last ruling given by Curtis originally stated that you would still take the 3000 LP damage. It was changed to it's current state a few days after Nationals.

I hate it when they just sneak-edit. If you hadn't posted this, I would still have the original post printed out and would've had big problems!! Better to add (thereby calling the thread back to the top of the list) an update saying that the ruling was reversed. (Choir preaching, much?) /rant.

so did this future fusion / chimeratech overdragon ruling change for spell canceller as well as cyber-phoenix?
