Chimeratech saved by cyber phoenix????

First off forgive me if this question has already been answered. Chimeratech Overdragon has just been special summoned to your side of the field during the 2nd stand by phase, by the effect of future fusion. Now future fusion along with all the cards on your side of the field will be destoryed, but wait you decide to chain your face down trap Call of the haunted and target Cyber Phoenix.

My question is, will cyber phoenix and chimeratech overdragon both be on the field or will they both die,,,thanks

They'd both die.

Cyber Phoenix would already be back in the Graveyead (by Chimeratech's effect) by the time Future Fusion's effect would activate anyway (to remove Chimeratech from the field).

Something along the line...

If I use Power Bond to bring out Chimeratech overdragon, what should it's original attack be? 0 or x*800? The effect only kicks in after it is successfully summoned. So, does it count as 0 or x*800 where x is the number of machines you discarded.

I thought since Future Fusion is negated by Cyber Phoenix, Chimeratech Overdragon would survive.

It's the same situation with Royal Decree, Call of the Haunted and a Heavy Storm. The "called" monster survives because when Call is destroyed it is currently negated.

Based on the ruling for UFOroid Fighter, If "UFOroid Fighter" is Special Summoned with "Power Bond", first apply the effect of "UFOroid Fighter" to determine its original ATK & DEF, and then apply the ATK increase of "Power Bond".

Chimeratech would determine it's ATK by the number of machine-type monsters sent to the graveyard x 800 and then the effect of Power Bond would increase and double the ATK of Chimeratech. You would take damage EQUAL to the original ATK of Chimeratech at the end phase.

Resolve chain:
1. Call of the Haunted summons Cyber Phoenix.
Cyber Phoenix has only itself to activate it's effect to since Chimeratech has not been summoned yet.
2. Resolve effect of Future Fusion, summoning Chimeratech.
3. Resolve Chimeratech's effect and send all cards on the
field to the graveyard, including itself since Future Fusion is no longer on the field.

No, no, no.

"Cyber Phoenix" will be sent to the Graveyard, but "Chimeratech" will stay.

It is the exact same scenario as "Heavy Storm", "Royal Decree" and "Call of the Haunted".

Because "Future Fusion" was being negated by "Cyber Phoenix" when it left the field, it will not and cannot destroy "Chimeratech".

Fury is correct.

Densetsu_x is right. You summon the chimera and then you play Cyber Phoenix. Cyber Phoenix will only target itself and those on the field because Chimera has still NOT BEEN SUCCESSFULLY SP. Summoned. When chimera is successfully Sp. Summoned, it triggers the destroy everything effect.

It would be possible if Cyber Phoenix was on the field beforehand and then Chimera's effect takes place. I was thinking if there is any place for chain against the summoning due to Future Fusion or was it just part of Future Fusion's effect like the life deduction of power bond that is unchainable.

Ok, did NOBODY else read the original post before throwing out answers? I'm really getting sick of people arguing with me just for the sake of arguing w/o even reading what's going on correctly.

Just in case, lets recap what the original post says....

Now I don't know about anybody else, but that says that "Chimeratech" has already been Special Summoned by the effect of "Future Fusion". So that means what? "Chimeratech" is already on the field.

Translation....The effect of "Chimeratech" that sends all cards to the Graveyard has been activated due to his being Special Summoned by the effect of "Future Fusion". Btw..."Chimeratech" doesn't destroy anything, it sends cards to the Graveyard.

Now, this says you are chaining your face-down "Call of the Haunted" to the effect of "Chimeratech" in order to Special Summon "Cyber Phoenix" from your Graveyard.

Now that we've successfully established what the original post said, let's build and resolve the chain.

Link 1 "Chimeratech".
Link 2 "Call of the Haunted" targeting "Cyber Phoenix".
nothing else added, resolve.
"Cyber Phoenix" is Special Summoned, and it's Continuous Effect immediately kicks in and negates ALL Spell/Traps that are targeting Machines on your side of the field. That means that both "Call of the Haunted" AND "Future Fusion" are now being negated by "Cyber Phoenix".
"Chimeratech" resolves now and all cards are sent to the Graveyard at the same time.

Now, since "Future Fusion" was being negated when it left the field, it will not be able to destroy "Chimeratech".

Does everybody understand this now? If not, too bad. Let somebody else try to explain it to you....
