I beg to differ on this one. You are targeting a Specific Fusion Monster. This effect is pretty much identical to the 2nd effect of "Enemy Controller". We all know THAT effect targets. Why would this one be any different because it's a Fusion Monster?

Well, "Enemy Controller" actually says you have to select a monster. "Chthonian Polymer" just says to take control of the Fusion Monster that is Summoned. It is a little different...
