yup, because Cold Wave has to resolve for its effect to activate

Umm, Cold Wave activates. Opponent can chain or not. Then Turn Player can chain or not. Cold Wave resolves. The effect is established on the field and is in motion.

That's how it works.

Uummm..... No.

Effects activate when they activate. They resolve when they resolve. It's that simple. Nothing EVER activates when it resolves.

umm, how about the discard/destruction effects of Sillva and Goldd when the monsters have been discarded by an opponent's effect?
