Hi All,
skey23 said that this was the best place to tell you a bit about the new trading card game I'm designing:
Combat Cards, The Trading Card Game Of Dueling Warriors In The Second Life Virtual World, is a real and virtual trading card game.
In Second Life residents can try the game with free weapons and demo decks, train against robot AI opponents and then buy virtual cards from vending machines to build decks which give different combinations of moves in the game. The decks provide a hidden heads up display allowing players to view and select cards from their hand and also animate their avatars, so spectators see the players fighting each other in the virtual world.
The game mechanics are based on Rock-Paper-Scissors, with cards attacking or defending high, low or mid locations (like in UFS) or causing cards to be discarded. Some cards can be sequenced in powerful combo attacks while others are powerful at the cost of sacrificial negative effects. Skillful players work out which combos their opponent has available so they can be anticipated and blocked. The blocks, in turn, can be anticipated allowing bluffs and double bluffs to be played.
The web site at http://combatcards.co.uk provides rules, card graphics which can be printed out to use in real life, screenshots, videos, scores and links to teleport you directly to the Combat Cards arenas in Second Life.
I hope to play Combat Cards with you all soon in Second Life!
Cheers,
Doc
