Creature Swap/block attack/etc. Vs. Guardian Sphinx

If I use creature swap and my opponent gives me guradian sphinx, can I use his effect to switch it into face down defense position? Does the same apply to block attack and the like?

Pretty confident the answer is yes but I'd like to double check anyway

Yes, you can use the effect of "Guardian Sphinx".

The change of battle positions referred to on "Creature Swap" is referring to manual battle position changes, not battle positions changed by effects.
