crystal beast vs horus lv 8

Ok not sure about this question or how the play macanics go.

horus lv 8 on the field and attacks a crystal beast in defence.

Now does the crystal beast come out in the back field or does horus negate the continuos spell effect?

It can't negate the effect, because Horus LV8's effect has to be chained to a Spell Card's activation. The Crystal Beast's effect to retreat to the Spell/Trap Zone has not chain point, so it's never considered activated:

Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV8
The ability of "Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV8" to negate Spell Cards is a multi-trigger effect that must be chained to the activation of the Spell Card. You can activate this effect multiple times in the same chain to negate the activation and effect of several Spell Cards that are activated in the same chain.

Crystal Beasts
This effect does not use the Chain.

Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV8 cannot negate monster card effects. It is the effect of Crystal Beast monsters that allows the controller to place it in the Spell/Trap zone as a continuous Spell card.

Think about the situation if Horus LV8 destroys a set Kiseitai in battle?

True, however, the ability for Horus LV8 to negate Spell cards that would allow the Crystal Beasts to be special summoned is still there. That's the beauty of getting a player in a Royal Decree/Jinzo and Horus LV8 lock. They can't do anything but place their beasts in the S/T zone or allow them to go to the graveyard.

Well, yeah. Horus LV8 or not, Crystal Beast can still use it's effect to go to s/t zone. But that doesn't matter cause all of those Crystal Beast Normal Spell cards are useless as long as Horus is there.

That's why there's that little Trap Card called "Crystal Raigeki"....

crystal beasts dont really have effects when in s/t zone... do they? well - other than "treated as continuous spell"...but dont do anything that horus would negate...( all that wonderful spell support , however..) ...horus/decree is tough for every thing... pretty much limited to monster effects to get out of lock...exiled, snipe hunter, monarch summon, blowback, and so on...

EDIT: STUPID ME, I thought you meant crystal beast as spell cards (which are continuous, I know), I didn't think about the crystal support cards XD

To be honnest, if someone get to summon Horus level 8 against gem beast, The gem beast owner has to surrender directly. As long as a gem beast deck own only monster and magic card ...
