Crystal beasts V Dimensional fissure

This happened today and I missed looking it up.

In both questions opponent had dimensional fissure active.

Question 1

I had 4 crystal beasts in my s/t zone as continual spell cards.

My opponent summoned mobius targetted two and then played mystical space typhoon on a third.

Would my beasts be removed from play or would they go to the graveyard as spell cards and therebye miss the dimensional fissure removal.

Question 2


If I played crystal abundance and send my 4 crystal beasts from my s/t zone would they be removed or would they reach the graveyard as spell cards and then change back?

This second one is important as it will affect they way I play against a dimensional fissure/macro cosmos deck.

....and it's when they hit the graveyard that the Crystal beast monsters revert back to being monsters instead of Spell cards, thus allowing them to be special summoned again.

I have to disagree, while they are considered to be Continous Spell Traps on the field, they are still monsters when sent to the grave, therefore they would get removed.

Slither, go check the "new" old judge list (it's on the UDE site before the moved everything again). That is exactly the answer Curtis gave (that they are sent as Continuous Spells). Someone else can link it if they have the time to look for it. This isn't an opinion I was offering, just repeating the stated answer from the list.

So do you think an effect that has a requirment of "When a Normal Monster is sent from the Field to the Graveyard...", is fulfilled by Gemini monsters whose second Effect has yet to be activated?

Makes you wonder because the "effect" of the Gemini monster is that is considered a "normal" monster. Hmmm....which came first? Chicken or egg?

I know about that ruling, but like I stated "while on the field", the judges thread is stating why can you use them for Hamon or any other particular scenario where a Continuous Spell would be justified, but it is not giving a reason for them not to be removed if sent to the grave, Macro, DF etc, redirect the monsters going to the grave to the RFG.

The Crystal beast monsters are not considered monsters while in the S/T zone. They are treated as "continous spell cards" while in that zone. You already know this. The "spell cards" remain as such UNTIL they hit the graveyard. When they are tributed from the field for the summon of Hamon, they are "spell cards". The same is true for Dark Necrofear. While it is on the field, it is treated as an Equip Spell card and remains as such until is it removed. When it hits the graveyard, it is now a monster again. There is no "re-direction" of the card if it is removed from the field as a "spell card".
