Does anyone have information on where I can get a custom made game mat? Like the one that Jerry Wang had at SJC NC? My team is starting to look into this. Basically we need somewhere that can provide us with the 1 1/2 foot by 2 1/2 foot mousepad. We could probably find a company around here to impose whatever image on it, but we need the materials first.

Anyone know where to start?

i heard that you have to go to print shops or something like that.

but dont you think 1'5" and 2'5" is a bit much.

think about it thats 17 by 29 thats preaty big. lol

How come we cannot just use our Duel Disks that we buy from Matel?

You can, you just have to keep shouting at your opponent what your move is and keep calling for the Heart of the Cards when you draw. :)

That is fine with me. What is the point of making a Duel Disk and not being able to use them in a tourney.

What we need is some arrogant multi-millionaire teenager to create actual Duel Disks for us. Sure they would be incredibly expensive but wouldn't it be worth it? :)

haha well nowadays we have that gx one that DOES hold sleeved cards...only thing is the graveyards are pretty small and theres still no zone for fusions or rfp cards...other than that it would be fun to try it...

Yeah, the least this game could do is reward me for actually buying those Duel Disks for my own dueling purposes. It would be lame if I could not take it with me to a tourney, sit down at the table with it on my arm and duel.

haha...if u wanted to...you could even STAND UP and duel....and take a long time with the lp calculation....perfect way to win by freaking out ppl/annoying them...you could even memorize a monologue from kaiba or something when u play...itd be hilarious...:cog_cityo

That and I would think that placing your cards in a device could generate all kinds of ways to cheat. The duel disks are for show and nothing more.

Didn't Roan Studio make custom game mats at one time?

your best bet is to do what i did, and look for an online electronics wholesaler that sells rolls of anti-static matting or buy one of thoe desk size anti-static mats and have it cut down to the size you need.....a silk screen printer or airbrusher could put your design on the mat and away you go

still designing mats for my team, but it's hard to do considering none of us can agree on a logo or even a name

Yep, and I still do.

However unless Konami has changed their copyrights, it's not legal to sell them if they have any Yu-Gi-Oh graphics.

I gotta say, watching someone duel with a Duel Disc is WAAAAY funny!!!

Just had to get that out of the way...

Anyway, its too cumbersome for one, and it takes too much time to perform moves when your having to take a card from the deck that is always being compressed. There's no way I can accept watching my opponent take his time "pulling" cards from his deck. Then, there's having to deal with accidental "double pulls".

Dont get me wrong, I think its awesome watching it in action on the show, but it doesnt translate well to real life.

you think thats how Yugi does it?

i mean i know he cheats by always top decking what he needs or even calling out cards he doesnt have in his hand [Yu-Gi-Oh!: The movie] lol but man i figure he can't just sit down and say, "Okay fellas! lets get down to business!"

and belive it or not i have seen somebody with that stupid thing at a Pre-Release event. Its not even funny, seriously, you think you would enjoy seing somebody play like that. Its not.

It is very sad, put it this way it really makes you think why your playing the game. lol

Hey roan, long time no see online! i hasnt seen your or your husband! why you Disappear? lol

Anti-Static matts somebody says, interresting. No seriously that is really interesting, Ill start making some tribal logos again. :D

Just in case someone is getting silly ideas, don't plan on attending a LC qualifier or nationals with a Duel Disk on your arm. We had someone attempt that last year and others with some little metal rack that they wanted to put their cards in.

If you want a card layout of some kind, use the playmat provided in the starter / structure decks, those will be allowed. In any case though your cards are going flat on the table and not other way.

Fortunately I was not talking about duel disks or anything silly like that. Anti-static mats, huh? Can you refer me to a wholesaler that might sell this equipment Roan or TsunamiArmy?
And I meant 1 1/2' by 2 1/2'. Not what I wrote. Only an inch off in each dimension, but still. And that isn't big! Regulation Playmats given at a regionals are about that size.....(measures to confirm).....well I don't have a tape measure but that seems about right. Anyone who has one and a tape measure be sure to correct me if I am wrong.

I've been seeing blank white playmats on eBay lately, usually ranging from $9-15 before shipping costs. My friend is ordering me one thats going to end up at $15 after shipping, not bad at all for a playmat. Once I figure out a design to put on it, an artist friend of mine has said he'll draw it. So yeah, a nice custom playmat for only $15 sounds like a great deal to me.

Yeah, I know a few places that you can get something like that done. I am pretty much hoping to get either a Trigun, GitS or Hellsing themed one, having Alucard's eyes stare at you is kind of creepy :p

team comic odyssey seel plain white mats (same size as the mats given away as prizes) on ebay...their ebay id is cogaming if you want to check them out

and to the person who asked about anti-static matting, i'll have a look around and see what wholesalers i can find...the one i found was in australia, so probably of no help to you lol
