Okay Fellas... Dasher... though it may seem broken to some...[i dont think its broken...] people are saying the effect of the card is once per game but the card it self doesnt state it.

what do you guys belive and what is the word on the judge's list about Dashie?

You can use "Destiny Hero - Dasher's" effect to Special Summon 1 monster you draw only once while it is in the Graveyard. If "Destiny Hero - Dasher" is returned to your hand or Deck and then sent back to the Graveyard you could activate its effect again.

A better explanation would be.. if it ever leaves the graveyard, its effect is reset and then when it is sent to the graveyard again, you can use its effect again. (not exactly when its sent, but you know what I mean)

okay, so hold on... the effect has to be as follows then:

Necroshade said:
While this card is in your Graveyard, you can Normal Summon 1 monster from your hand that includes "Elemental Hero" in its card name without Tributing. You can only use this effect once while this card is in the Graveyard.

thats an example of a once only while in the grave type of effect.

Dashie is completly different. It would need to state

"You can only use this effect once while it is in the graveyard" but it doesnt so the ruling wouldnt apply in this case becuase it doesnt have the same underline text that Necroshade does.

The effects states, "while this card is in the Graveyard", you may activate the effect "one time only". Which translates to mean, if he STAYS in the Graveyard, the one time you used his effect will be the only time.

If you remove him, then he would go back to his line of text again if he should re-enter. It's no different than those coupons you get a a fast food retaurant that state "Once per visit". If you never leave the Restaurant, have you started another visit? If you leave, and come back another day, the "Once per visit" applies again.

yea, but dasher's effect doesnt have that line of text, it has that ruling placed on it probably, which mind you it could be based on a future card that may bounce cards from the graveyard during the draw phase.

more clerification is needed on 1. the card and 2. the ruling.

Chimeratech Overdragon Vs. My Body as a Shield ; Return of Dasher 2006-08-09 16:12:00 <sean morse>

During the Sneak preview several questions came up during the events of the day, and i would like some clarification.

1. Player A uses Overload Fusion to Summon Chimeratech Overdragon to the field and try's to resolve the destroy all cards on Player A's side of the field. Player B Responds with My body as a shield... Can he do this to negate Chimeratech's Effect and destroy it???

------------------------------------------------------------------
We Ruled that you would be able to use that to negate chimeratech and destroy it.
------------------------------------------------------------------

2. If you have Destiny Hero - Dasher in your graveyard, use its effect, get it back with warrior returning alive and then it ends up in the graveyard again, can you use the effect.

-------------------------------------------------------------------
This one i personally believe that the effect would reset, because the card seems to suggest that once while it is in the graveyard, but im not sure.

Thanks...

Answer:

1. Incorrect.

"Chimeratech Overdragon" does not say "destroy" anywhere in its card text. "My Body as a Shield" cannot be used.

2.
This is answered on the FAQ.

Problem solved. Obviously, you can reuse the effect.

no no, the problem isnt that it can be re-used its.

say turn 1 i get it in the grave, turn 2. i use the ability to special summon a revealed creature during my draw. Turn 3. I draw another creature, Can this new creature be revealed and summoned?

No.

Once per turn, by Tributing 1 monster, this card gains 1000 ATK until the end of this turn. If this card attacks, it is changed to Defense Position at the end of the Battle Phase. While this card is in the Graveyard, one time only, when you draw a Monster Card during your Draw Phase you can show it to your opponent and Special Summon it.
Now read this other card.

If this card is destroyed and sent from the field to the Graveyard, it will be Special Summoned during the End Phase with ATK and DEF of 1000. You can only use this effect once in the Duel.
I see something in common. Dasher can only be used once for each time it exists in the Graveyard. Once it leaves the Graveyard and returns to it, the effect is reset and can be activated again. It reminds be of Twin-Headed Behemoth because of the whole "once in the Duel." thing. Dasher is a one per visit to the Graveyard.

Masterwoo0's food coupon analogy explains it perfectly.
