D-hero national anthem

EmeraldDragon

Bringer of Doom
I just got my invite to nationals today and this is what Ive got so far for that fateful day when the cookieslayer collective will grace the halls of the royal dublin hotel during nationals. Gots any help for me?

some things..... The amount of destiny draws in the list is all I have. I have no malicious jinzo stratos or disc commanders or any other game promo from that set. Some random crazy off the wall ideas would be nice.

Maybe adding 3 Elemental Hero Ocean will bring back your most important D Heros.

Take out the Blade Masters and Suijin for 3 Mystic Tomato.

Take out Destiny Hero Dogma and Silent Swordsman Lv5, for Blowback Dragon. It gives you more Dark monsters.

Also Take out the Grand Mole (I never find he helps) and Exiled Force for 2 Strike Ninja. Ither you're gonna love this idea or you're going to hate it.

Take out the Shrinks for 2 Smashing Ground. The D hero Diamond Dude really likes it.
Take out the Forced Back for a Nobleman of Crossout.

Take out the D counter for a return from the different dimension.
He will fuel the strike ninja.

Nice ideas but im on a budget. I dont get shonen jump so oceans are not in my cardpool. Blowback is not in my cardpool and neither is strike ninja or return or smashing ground. Strangely enough no tomatoes either. About the best i could do is the nobleman. But i dunno if forced back is the best card to take out for it.

Now dont get me wrong I like the ideas but unfortunately Im on a very tight budget of no money at all and dont have as big a cardpool as id like.

I ran a version of this. I didnt have the cyber dragons or shrinks or grand mole or suijin then but traded for them at the time.

There will be roughly 80 people on average at the tourny and i only know of the following decks being run.....

Monarch [ 2 ]
Gadget [ 2 ]
Gadget / Monarch [ 1 ]
Earth / Gadget [ 3 ]
Bazoo Return [ 2 ]
Demise [ 1 ]
Diamond Dude Turbo [ 2 ]
E-Hero [ 1 ]
Burn [ 1 ]
6 Samuari [ 2 ]

Thats thanks to a poll on another site.

Any more ideas on what might help me?

I dunno about torrential. I was never too fond of losing my monsters but if ya can suggest something to take out I'll give it a go and see how it works out for me.

i'm still of the opinion that diamond dude loves lightening vortex
there is a spell/trap that , when your opponent draws (except for turn) a card - you draw 2 cards...and with those defenders.... and opponents dekoichi's or vs a ddt deck... but i;m beyond tired and cant think of the name... maybe one of the more alert......ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

Zero I was hoping on big things from you on this one being that you always seem to be in the know about how to use every card. I was hoping you could give some good advice. As for your current tidbit I wish i could get more d-draws and a commander or three but no money and less than a week to nats it int very likely at all.

Although I have very little experience with playing a non-DDT version of Diamond Dude, here's my advice I'd offer anyways.

-1 Destiny Hero - Dreadmaster
-1 Destiny Hero - Dasher
-2 Destiny Hero - Blade Master
-2 Destiny Hero - Defender
-1 Exiled Force
-2 Clock Tower Prison
-2 Reload
-1 Scapegoat
-1 Swords of Revealing Light
-1 Forced Back

+2 Smashing Ground / Fissure (whichever available/prefered)
+1 Nobleman of Crossout
+2 Brain Control
+2 Upstart Goblin (the 1000 won't be avoided but it's a free card if Diamond Dude flips it)
+1 Nobleman of Extermination
+1 Creature Swap

Overall the changes would give the following result:
Monsters: 18
[2] Cyber Dragon
[2] Destiny Hero - Dasher
[1] Jinzo
[1] Silent Swordsman LV5
[1] D.D. Warrior Lady
[3] Destiny Hero - Diamond Dude
[3] Destiny Hero - Fear Monger
[1] Neo-Spacian Grand Mole
[1] Sangan
[2] Snipe Hunter
[1] Spirit Reaper

Spells: 18
[1] Destiny Draw
[1] Heavy Storm
[2] Brain Control
[2] Smashing Ground
[2] Upstart Goblin
[1] Creature Swap
[1] Nobleman of Crossout
[1] Mystical Space Typhoon
[1] Premature Burial
[1] Nobleman of Extermination
[2] Reinforcement of the Army
[2] Shrink
[1] Snatch Steal

Traps: 4
[1] Call of the Haunted
[1] Magic Cylinder
[1] Mirror force
[1] Ring of Destruction

The main fixes mainly revolve around using simple effects to use Diamond Dude in conjunction with. Before the fixes, there was really only 4 normal magics that Diamond Dude could have abused to gain free advantage. However, with the above suggestions, there will be a total of 13. I don't like the idea of using costly effects with Diamond Dude, because if you happen to draw them, you're putting yourself at a slight disadvantage, unless you have some sort of combo deck, like DDT. Therefore, in casual versions using Diamond Dude, my belief is simple effects are the way to go, as they are guaranteed to be a free plus one when you use it with Diamond Dude, or a 1-for-1 if you happen to draw them.

EDIT: If the fixes are impossible to adjust to, then other magics will simply do, as long as they are simple effects. Like additional copies of Upstart Goblin or Nobleman of Extermination or Fissure etc etc. It's really just the concept I want to show as the fix.

Yeah but the thing is diamond dude isnt there for effect. Though his effect is useful at times he is more there for his half decent attack power than anything else. Its not that i dont respect the ideas but id rather not turn this into the poor mans DDT. Diamond dude is definately not the central plan here. Im trying to do something here that doesnt revolve around the diamond boy at all. It there was a d-hero with higher atk or similar atk at the same level id use him instead but as it stands diamond dude has the best low level atk and thats why hes there.

you only have 4 spells that could be used by your 3 diamond dudes...hope the rest are in your side deck....

you only have 4 spells that could be used by your 3 diamond dudes...hope the rest are in your side deck....
edit - geez.. must've double clicked something.... sigh...anyway the card i was thinking about was appropriate...continuous trap...just trying to get you some draw power.... i thought that when defender was out it might work...but i'm not sure...there is an activation requirement....might be worth looking into...

I really dont know how many more times I can say this. Diamond dude is NOT there for his effect. He is there for his ATK. His effect is completely secondary and would rarely be used.

easy - no offense intended - its just that not putting an effect to good use seems a waste...there arent a whole lot of d heros... so options are limited...both by cost/availability...you could run other things fetchable by rota (DDA & Don Z) that arent d heros and have better atk/effect...... but you dont seem to want that either... all i can come up with - is trying to hook up defender & appropriate...since i thought giving opponent cards was a weakness of the deck...and try to turn it to your advantage...maybe swap reload for card trader...get your deck to play thinner -ya know? when it 'goes off' its great - but how to speed up/ increase reliability? cycle more cards...?how? diamond dude, morphing jar, appropriate, card trader, reload, card destruction...what else??? mystic tomato???you tell me??
as for diaamond dude - why turn down free(no hand cost) destruction??

ok to clarify diamond dudes purpose in the deck over and above his effect. He is there for half decent atk and to be used with fear monger for something to bring back as either a good atk monster or tribute fodder. he is also there for the odd few times when i actually manage to get clock tower to 4 counters (happens a lot) and there arent 2 dashers in the grave to bring back with dreadmasters effect.

I am thinking of possibly packing in the reloads for 2 tribute to the doomeds and magic cylinder for torrential. Whadya think?

EDIT:

Sorry if I sounded snappy in my last post I know you were only trying to help but it happens a lot where people just look at the deck only take nothing else into consideration and change it to what theyd like to play and not what would improve it or make it closer to the deck owners play style. Not saying thats what ya did it just happens so often that some posts look like thats what happened.

just for poops & giggles - try with 3x defenders and 3x appropriates...when your hand is over limit - you'll be dumping dashers like crazy... use the card traders&reloads to see as many cards as possible...just see if its viable....a defender and 2 or more appropriate and you draw like crazy....opponent will throw every bit of back row destruction he has asap - should help preserve clock towers....
maybe even creature swap a defender...def = u draw, atk = u kill...

Ive updated things a litte. Take a look at it now.
