When this card inflicts Battle Damage to your opponent's Life Points, you can select and activate 1 of the following effects:
- Select 1 card that includes "Dark Scorpion" in its card name, or is named "Cliff the Trap Remover", from your Deck and add it to your hand.
- Select 1 card that includes "Dark Scorpion" in its card name, or is named "Cliff the Trap Remover", from your Graveyard and add it to your hand.

Meanae is probably the most useful Dark scorpion besides Don Zaloog or Cliff. She has a 'sangan/witch' effect and a 'The Warrior returning alive' effect. The catch is you can only use it on Cliff or the Dark Scorpions. Unfortunately you can't use it with Don Zaloog which is rip-off. The card's already being balanced out by the fact it needs to do battle damage and with only 1000 atk that's not too easy. Her defense is only 1800. Back before 1900 ATK'ers were common it would have been ok.

Ah, Melanie...I agree she's probably the most useful after Don and Cliff. Her effect is essential to a Dark Scorpion deck, however DOING battle damage with 1000 attack is the hard part. The Scorpion crew REALLY should have been level 3's so they could at least take advantage of G-Bind/Level Limit. So...How to do it? Assuming you have Mystic Plasma Zone out, you could equip her with a Shooting Star Bow - Ceal...The best way would be to use Melanie to search out the one or two Scorpions not in your hand assuming you get a decent draw, play the Don first, use Mustering of the Dark Scorpions to special summon all of them, and then play Dark Scorpion combination to eat five cards off your opponent's deck...Of course a Needle Worm would do the exact same thing, BUT this is so much more satisfying...
 
meanae... again, this shows an example of an unorganized mafia. now think about it, if you were a person in the mafia, wouldnt you want your Don with you? that, i think, is her 2nd problem, the first being her stats.... all of the scorpions had very odd stats... i guess they just need more support spell and traps... your best bet with meanae is to just equip her with a power up or use chorus of sanctuary to get her DEF up... (but would one actually use chorus in a dark scorpion deck?)
