Dark World Deaings + Peten the Dark Clown

I moved this post to the appropriate section of the forum. Hope you don't mind.

The last thing that Dark World Dealings does is make the players discard a card. That discard will be the last thing to happen (since Dark World Dealings is a Normal Spell), so you can then activate Peten's effect.

Actually, thinking about it again, this post could perhaps have stayed happily where it was (in the "To Trigger or Not To Trigger" netrep article), but no matter.

I'm glad this post was answered already, and properly I might add. I hear all the time, from uninformed people, that Peten misses its timing on a large number of cards where it actually does activate.

Don't worry; if that Simple Texts Project ever picks up, we'll all have a nice and shiny new reference to look at to help us with our problems.

I'm sure at least part of the problem is people not knowing what happens when in a card effect (what's the Cost, what's the effect, what happens last?), and that's due to poor wording (because we can't expect the players to have played the game for years and tried to properly learn all the cards - no one's ever managed that, incidentally).

The other part is not being sure how exactly the different effect types work, and which effects are which type. The definitions should be included in the game mechanics, but those particular ones aren't easily available to newer players (because they're supposedly "advanced" rules that people just never get round to learning).
